T he minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 27th 1953, were approved-as read. The City Engineer having reported the completion of the construcion of a sewer system in Conrad Addition, L.I.D. No. 750, by the contracor; it was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that said work be accepted, and the City Engineer authorized to prepare.an assessment roll for said distr'ct, and the City .Clerk instructed-to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll, for Monday, August 24th, 1953, motion carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Lauren W. Dobbs, be appointedto the office, of Assistant City Attorney; said appointment to take effect August 1st, 1953, and to contin during the pleasure of the City Commission, motion carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C ®1071, providing for the construct- ion of a sewer system on 20th Avenue and other'streets in the City of Yakima, and there being insufficient protest against said improvement, or any part thereof* It was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1480, creating a Local Improvement Distrct be passed as read, carried:. Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1480, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a sewer; establishing a Local Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefor; and creating a special fund. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1481, providing for the method of appointment of a Police Judge Pro Tempore, and fixing his compensation, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1481, AN ORDINANCE relating to Police Judge Pro Tempore, providing for the mehtod of his appointment, and vixing his compensation. An ordinance providing for the 'borrowing of money in the sum of $76,000.00, by the City of Yakima, for the purpose of enlarging and improving the Yakima Municipal Airport, prescribing the form of bonds and creating a special fund, was introduced by Huza, and read in full by the City Clerk. It was moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that said ordinance be laid on the table for one week as required by the laws of the State of Washington and the ordinances, of the City of Yakima, Washington, motion carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Resolution No. C -1075, being a resolution of intention to improve 44th Avenue North from 6�u.mmitview Avenue to Snowmountain Road, and Snowmountain Road west from 44th Avenue North be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO.0 -1075, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is its intention to improve 44th Avenue North from Summitvied Avenue to Snowmountain Road, and Snowmountain Road, west from 44th Avenue North, by surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; all of said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed vua th the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above described improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: The easterly 150 feet of the southerly 20 feet of Block 6; Lots 1, 2, 14, 15 & 16, Block 14; Lots 9 to 16 inclusive, Block 15; and Lots 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 & 21, Block 21; all in The Uplands; also Lots 1 to 6 inclusive ;. lots 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18;: and Lots 20 to 28 inclusive; all in Block 2, Gilbert Uplands. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are - hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Comm- ission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 24th day of August, 1953, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said heqring and of the :intention to maks the aforesaid improvement. All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvement, including the engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required.by law to be by him submitted. Hazen, in the sum of $400.00 for used equipment belonging to the Sanitation department, and which had heretofore been advertised for sale, and no bids received, was rejected, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.. Price on the above car to include a trad -in of a 1951 Ford sedan belonging to the Police Department; said bids to be received on Monday, the 17th day of August 1953, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to give Notice to Contractors for the construction of a sewer system on 20th Avenue South, L.I.D. No. 760; said bids to be received on Monday, August 17th 1953, at 10 o'clocl A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that the report of the Investment Committee for in- vestments pruchased during the month of July 1953, be approved as follows: - July 31, 1953 City Commission Yakima, Washington Gentlemen: The following investments were purchased during the month of July L..I.D. This being the time for the adjourned meeting relative to the rehearing of rezoning the property at the corner of 15th Avenue and Suimnitview, and the City Planning Commission having heretofore recommended that said property be changed from t" Residence district to Limited Business District, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
