The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey
present on roll call..
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June
15th, -1953, and adjourned meeting thereof, be approved as read,; carried: Burns, Huaa and
Huey voting aye on roll call.
This being, the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C- -1061, providing for the construct=
ion of an irrigation system on Lots 5, 6,- and the Vilest 33.7 feet of Lot 7,. of Larsent s
Home Sites, and other property more particularly set forth in said Resolution, and. there
being objections to said improvement by several property owners in said district;, it was
moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Engineer be instucted to contact said,
objectors and further explain the need for said improvement and that this hearing be
continued to Monday, June 29th 1953 -,, at 10 :00 o'clock A...M.., carried Burns, Huza and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
Permission was giver.. to Gene Renard, Consultant, for the Planning Commission, to attend
the National convention of the-American Institute of Planners, in San Francisco, Calif -orni
the latter part of this month.
Moved by Huey, secor-.ded by Huza, that the claim of L. F. Scharff, for- da -mages in the s-�Im
of $3-,,227.39,. alleged to have been sustained by reason of the clogging of the sewer line
on Summ_itview-Avenue: causing injuries to his home on Noy.. 1108 Summitview, Avenue, be taken
under advisement for further investigation, carried.: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on
roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the claib of Archie Caraway, • .for damages in the sum
of $1,,010.00 alleged. to have been sustained by reason of the ' breakage of a water pipe line
injuring basement and grounds. at No., 4707 Sunset Avenue, be rejected for the reason that
the irrigation system eras not-constructed-by the C1_ty of Yakima, and the sewer system
had previously been put in, and therefore the City of Yakima is-not res- ponsib le for said
damages, carried: Bbrns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1467, fixing the' time of delinquency,
and. prescribing the form. of bond in L.I.D. No..- 747, be passed as read, carried; Burns.,
Huza and Huey votinE; aye on roll call. =
ORDINANCE NO. B -14671 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinauency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 747,, and providing for the issuance of bonds. with coupons- attached for -the
payment of the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza,, that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday June 23, 1953,
at 10:00 o' clock A.M., carried Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll' call.,

Moved by Burns, seconded by Huz -a: that Elwood Hutche,sn be appointed to the office,, of
City -Attorney to succeed George L. Clark, resigned,. said -appointment to take effect-.
immediately and to continue during the pleasure of the City Commissiop,.motion carried.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that we do now adjourn., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
