The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza,and Huey
present on roll call.
The minutesof the regular meeting of Monday, June 1st, 1953 and adjourned meeting thereof,
were approved as read.
This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a Storm Sewer in the
Uplands Addition, L.I.D. No. 755, the following were received:
Ray C. Pickeres $ 874.42.
Carroll & Sanislo 782..65
DeBlasio Bros. 704..55,
Engineer's estimate 527..75.
This being the time for receiving bids for a used Panel Truck for the Fire Department,
the following were :received:
Fros-ke Motor Co.
Henry Stotsenburg
777.00
800.00 plus 3% sales tax.
This being the time for receiving bids on a 4 -door sedan for the Police Department, the
following were received: Cheshire Pontiac Co. on a 1953 6 cylinder Pontiac car, $2,446.92
less a trade -in of a 1951 Ford sedan of $1446.92, leaving a balance of $1,400.00 plus
sales tax ;: Burrows Motor Co. on a 1953 Fora Mainline Sedan in the sum of $2,229.08, less:
trade -in of a 1951 Ford Sedan of $1,250.00 or a balance of $716..35.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Engineer
of the 28th Avenue South Irrigation District, L.I.D. No.
work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer instructed
for said district, and the City Clerk authorized. to give
roll for Monday, June 29th. 1953, at 10:00 0' clock A.M. $, c

Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the Certification of the County Commissioners
regarding the results of an.election held for the purpose of annexing certain territory
to the City of Yakima, be accepted and the City Attorney authorized to prepare an
ordinance annexing said territory for Monday, June 15th 1943 -, at 10 :00 o'clock A.M.,
carried, Burns, Huza, and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that we do now adjourn to meet Friday June 12, 1953
at 1 :30 P.M., carried:. Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, FRIDAY, JUNE 12,. 1953„ 1. :-30 O'clock, P.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and
Huey present on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the bids on the construction of the Storm Sewer in
The Uplands heretofore received on Monday, June 8th be awarded to DeBlasio Bros. in
the sum of 6704.55, carried :. Burns, Huza..and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the bid of Burrows Motor Company heretofore sub-
mitted on Monday June 8th 1953, for a 4 -door sedan for the Police Department be accepted
in the sum of $716.35.
Moved by Huza -,, seconded by Burns, that the bid of Henry Stotensburg in the sum of $800.00
for a used Panel Truck for the Fire Department was accepted. However, on notification
to Mr. Stotsenburg of such acceptance it was leaned that the truck had been sold, and it
is considered for the best interest of the City to reject all bids for said used truck
and proceed to purchase a machine on the open market, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey
voting; aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that Stephen H. Huza be appointed to the County - Health
District Board to fill the position vacated by Owen 0. Carpenter, motion carried.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that a 20" power mower be purchased for the Fire
Department from the Yakima Cycle Company in the sum of $143.'60, carried: Burns, Huza
and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that we do now adjourn, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
