The City Commission met in regular session, Commissioners*Carpenter and Huey present or..
roll. call., Mayor Burns: absent.
IThe minutes of the regular meeting of Tuegday February 24th 1953- be approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving` bids for
42. feet of pipe crossing Swan. Avenue under the P.P. & L. Ditch, the following were receive,

Toe Brandt . 25.59 per foot
Upon the recommendation of the City Engineer that both bids were excessively high,•- it was
moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that- said bids be taken up one week from today,
carried :. Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call, Burns absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter,, that this being the time for receiving bids on the
construction of an irrigation system on 28th Avenue South, L.I.D. No..748, the following
were received:
DeBlasio Brothers $4.2504.10 on Cast Iron Pipe
4,155.10 on Asbestos Pipe
N. L. Kimball $4,594.28 on Cast Iron Pipe
4,194.90 on Asbestos Pipe
IIt is ordered that said bids be taken under advisement, carried: Carpenter and Huey voti
aye on roll call, Burns absent.

Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for receiving bids for the
insurance on Liability and Property Damage ;.- including non - ownership on the fleet of cars
and trucks owned by the City of Yakima, the only bid received was from Goldade Insurance
Agency on 50,;000 and 200,;00.00 bodily injury and 10,000 property damage, in the sum of
$3,350..57 for a term of one year; it was moved by Carpenter,. seconded by Huey that said
bid be taken under advisement, carried: Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call,
Burns absent.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the report of the Investment Committee for
investments purchased by the City Treasurer be approved as follows:

ORDINANCE NO. B- 1431, AN ORDINANCE .fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 740, and providing for the issuance of bonds with. coupons attached for the
payment' of the unpaid portion thereof .
Moved by Huey, seconded by 'Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1431 be passed as read,
