The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 16th, 1953, were approved as read.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that the hearing on the rezoning of the South West
corner of Suminitview and 15th Avenue from "C" Residence to Limited Business District was
taken under advisement, carried: B urns, Carpenter and-Huey voting aye on-roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded-by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1430, which was introduced on
February 16th 1953, providing for the expenditure of $8,500.00 for the purchase of a,
snow plow for the Airport, be passed to its third reading and approved as read, carried:
Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1430, AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided fo
in the 1953 budget, for the purchase of a snow plow for the Yakima Municipal Airport, and
declaring an emergency.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. 0-1045, be adopted as read, carried:!i
Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -1045, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION. OF THE CITY OF L'AKIMA,
WASHINGTON
That it is its intention to improve Fourth Avenue South from Logan Avenue to
Mead Avenue, by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curb's. and gutters)
all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans-and speci-
fications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described improvement
is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit;
Beginning at a point on the center line of Logan Avenue, 166.8 feet west
of the center line of Fourth Avenue South; thence easterly along the center
line of Logan Avenue and said center line extended, to a point 160 feet
east of the center line of Fourth Avenue South; thence southerly and
parallel with Fourth Avenue South to Mead Avenue; thence westerly along
Mead Avenue to a point 166,1 feet west of the c -enter line of Fourth Avenue
South; thence northerly to the point of beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby
notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City
Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 ofelock A.M., on Monday, the 16th day of March,
19 53; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters- relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of
payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of engineering,
inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto,
shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable
therefor as provided by law and as above described;; and the City Engineer is hereby
directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said
hearing,. all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 24th day of F- ebruary, 1953.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioner Huey
present on roll call, Commissioner Carpenter absent.
It was moved by Huey seconded by Burns, that the petition heretofore presented by the
Planning Board to change the zoning from "C" Residence to Limited Business District at
the South West corner of Summitvie:v and 15th Avenue, is hereby denied, carried: Burns;
and Huey voting aye on roll call, Carpenter absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that we do now adjourn, carried:. Burns and Huey voting
aye on roll call, Carpenter absent.
