The minutes of the :regular meeting of Monday, February 9th 1953, and adjourned meeting thereof, be approved as read. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that an ordinance providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in, the 1953 budget, for the purchase of a snow plow for the - Yakima Municipal Airport is hereby introduced and laid on the table for one week, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for 650 gallons of white traffice line paint for the Street Department;; the following were h received :. p W.. P. Fuller & Company Yakima Hardware Co. Martin -Devon Crescents Pabco Mart General Paint Corp. 2.13 per gallon 2.79 " "' (3908 " "' in 55 gal. drums and (3.18 " . "in 5 gal. cans 3.20 per gal. 2.24 ": n, The bid of W. P. Fuller and Company in the sum of $2.13 was accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for uncovering a protion of the Trunk Line Sewer to Union Gap, the following were received: Goodwin Construction Co. $2:1500.00 Gallagher & Haller 2,250.00 G. G. T'eskey 2Y250,00 Joe Brandt 950.00 The bid of Joe Brandt was accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried: Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting; aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for the City Printing for the year 1953, and the bid of the Republic Publishing Company being the only.bid received in the sum of 95 cents per column inch, said bid was awarded to said Company, carried :: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is instucted to advertise for bids for the construction of an irrigation system in L.I.D.. 748; said bids to be received Monday, the 2nd day of March 1953, at 10::00 o'clock A.M., carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved. by Huey, 'seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk be instructed to call for bids for furnishing and placing of 42 lineal feet of pipe in the P.P. & L. Wasteway, where said wasteway,crosse:s Swan Avenue- said bids to be received on Monday, March 2nd, 1953 at 10 :00 o'clock A.M.,. carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1044 providing for the f orm of ballot for the $300,000.00 bond issue for Municipal Airport, be adopted as read, carried: Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C­109:42 A resolution providing for the form of vallot to be used at the general election to be held in the City of Yakima., Washington, on Tuesday, March 10,1953. WHEREAS, by ordinance No. B -1428, of the City of Yakima, Washington, it is provided that at the general election to be held in said City on Tuesday, March 10, 1953, there shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said City for ratification, the proposition of creating an indebtedness of said City in the sum of 300,.000100, and of issuing negotiable general obligation bonds of said City in the aggregate sum of $300.000,"00, for thepurpose of providing funds for the improvement and enlargement of the Yakima Municipal Airport, and acquiring land, extending runways, moving buildings, moving Washington Avenue, and making other necessayy improvements, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the form of the ballot to be used. at said election, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: Section 1. That the ballot to be used at the general election on March 10, 1953, shall be in substantially the following form: BALLOT GENERAL ELECTION Held in the City of Yakima, Washington, March 10, 1953, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. B -1426 INSTRUCTIONS, TO VOTERS: Every voter at the election desiring to vote in favor of the following proposition shall make a cross in the square opposite the vuords "Bonds- Yes" so that said ballot shall express his vote on said question, and every elector desiring to vote against said proposition shall make a cross in the square opposite the words "Bonds- -Nor" so that said ballot shall express his vote on said question. PROPOSITION "'Shall the City of Yakima create an indebtedness in the; sum of $300,000.00, and issue general obligation negotiable bonds of the City of Yakima, Washington, in they aggregate sum of $300,000.00. bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4) per cent per annum, payable semi- annually; said bonds shall mature in from two (2) to twenty (20.)- years from date of issue, and the principal and interest thereof shall be payable out of the annual tax levies to be made without limitation as to rate or amount, for the (Continued on Page 381) 1 1 1 C� 1 J FEBRUARY. 16, 1953 (Continued from page 380) purpose of providing funds for the improvement and enlargement of the Yakima Municipal Airport, by acquiring land, extending runways, moving buildings, moving Washington Avenue, and making other necessary improvements, all of which is more fully set forth in Ordinance No. B -1428, of said City.'' No. 737, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll, or any part thereof;: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1429 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read, carried; Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
