The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call..
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, January 26th 1953, were approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 727, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise
to said assessment roll, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1425,
confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof, be passed as read, carried:
Burns; Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1425, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improve-
ment District No. 727 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1296 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1041 be adopted as read,
carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. .
RESOLUTION NO. C -1041, WHEREAS, by ordinance, it is provided that on the first Monday
of February of each year, the City Commission of the City of Yakima, Washington, shall
pass a resolution prescribing the form of contract for the city advertising for the
ensuing year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission that the form of
contract for the city printing for the ensuing year shall be in substantially the form
hereto attached and made a part hereof, and the city clerk is hereby directed to give
notice for sealed proposals for a contract for doing the city advertising for the ensuing
year by publishing the same in the newspaper doing the city printing and advertising for
two consecutive issues, which notice shall contain'a general statement of the terms of
the contract to be let, together with the time and place when said bids. will be opened,'
and providing that any and all bids may be rejected.
Adopted by the City Commission, signed and approved this 2nd day of February
1953.

Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Resolution No. C -1042 be adopted as read,
carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION.NO. C -10421 WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Commission of the
City of Yakima, by ABRAHAM COURY and others, for the annexation of the City of Yakima,
Washington, of an unincorporated portion of Yakima County, Washington, situate adjacent
to the City of Yakima, described as:
Beginning at'the existing City Limits at the intersection'of the center
line of Nob Hill Boulevard with the center line of 17th Avenue South;
thence West along the center line of Nob Hill'Boulevard to the center line
of 22nd Avenue * South; thence South along the center line of 22nd Avenue
South to a point 25 feet South of the North line of Stone Street;; thence
East parallel with the north line of Stone Street to a point 160 feet West
of 20th Avenue South; Thence South parallel with 20th Avenue South to an
intersection with the center line of Grant Street extended; thence East
along the center line of Grant Street to the present City Limits; thence
North along the City Limits to the point of beginning, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be for the best interest of the City of Yakima to
annex said area to the City, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission that the petition of Abraham Coury
and others, for the annexation of the area adjacent to the City of Yakima, hereinabove
desteribed, be and the same is hereby approved, and the petitioners for the annexation of
said area, be and they are hereby notified of said approval by the City Commission of
the City of Yakima.

Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise
for bids for 650 gallons of white Traffic Line Paint; bids to be received Monday,
February 16th 1953 at 10 :00 o'clock ,A.M., carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye
on roll call.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor- Burns,and Commissioners Huey
and Carpenter present on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded ,by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1426 submitting to the qualified
electors of the City of Yakima, Washington, at the general election to be held on
March 10, 1953, thEs proposition of amending Section 5 of Article II of the City Charter
of the City of Yakima, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye
on roll call.
ORDINANCE.NO. B- 14 <36, AN ORDINANCE submitting to the qualified electors of the City of
Yakima, Washington, at the general election to be held in said City on March 10, 1953,J4
the proposition of-amending Section 5 of Article II of the City-Charter of the City of
Yakima, to provide that the salary of the Mayor shall be $7,200.00 per year, and that of
each of the Comissioners shall be $6 „600.00 per year, payable monthly.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City accept the assignment of the lease
between the Chambers Aviation Inc. and Powell A= irplane Crop Dusters, for the Old
Administration Building at Municipal Airport, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting
aye on roll call.
