JANUARY 19, 1953
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll'call.
The minutes of ,the regular meeting of Monday., January 12th 1953:, were approved as read.
Moved-,by Huey; seconded by Carpenter, -that this being the• time for receiving bids for.
5, 000 feet of 3/4"1 Type t9K" soft copper tubing for water works service, and 400 - 161
meter Tile Cast Iron Covers; for sidewalk for the Water Department, the following bids:
were awarded. Western Utilities: on the Copper Tubing. in the-sum of $1,650.00 and
Consolidated Supply Company on -the 400 meter Covers in the sum of $2,1136.00, carried ::
Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids on, a
12 Ton Truck for the 'Street Department, the following award was made: Wagner Chevrolet.
Company in the sum of $3,744.07 which included truck, body and hoist, carried: Burns,
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for. receiving bids on a
_,i T'on truck for the Irrigation Department the following award was made: Wagner Chevrolet
Company in the sum of $1,485.30., carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll
call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1422, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 736,' and providing for the issuance of bonds. with coupons attached for the
payment .of the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Burns', seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1422 be passed as read,
carried: Burns, Carpenter and, :Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B• -1423, AN, ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 742, and p' oviding for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the
payment of the unpaid portion thereof.

RESOLUTION NO. C -1038, BE IT RESOLVED
WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to

BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
construct an irrigation system to serve the
in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington,
Beginning at the intersection of 29th. Avenue South and Bonnie Doon, thence
northerly along the center line of 29th. Avenue South to the Center line of
Arlington Street, thence easterly along the center line of Arlington Street,
to the center line of 27th. Avenue South, thence southerly along the center
line of 27th. Avenue South to the center line of Bonnie Doon,- thence westerly
along the center line of Bonnie Doon to the point of beginning ;:
said improvement to consist of the installation of necessary mains, laterals, service
connections and other appurtenances for-the purpose of delivering water for irrigation
purposes to each lot within the proposed district described above; and to be constructed
in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer
and filed with the City Clerk.
A,11 persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby
notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a: meeting of the City Comm-
ission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County,
Washington, at the-hour of 10.o1clock A-.M., on Monday, the 9th day of February, 1953;
which' time and -place are hereby fixed'd, for the hearing of all -mat -tern: relating to said
porposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment
for said improvement;, and the City 'Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said
hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The (n st and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring
right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices,
and all other expenses. incident thereto, except three-quarters' the cost of the head -
works and the difference in cost between a four -inch main line and a.five -inch main line,
and the ifference in cost between a six -inch main line and and eithy -inch main line, whic'
shall be borne by the City of Yakima Irrigation Department ;; shallbe borne by and asses'ded
against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law-
and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City
Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data..and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 19th day of January, 1953.
