The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissionera, Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call:.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 24th 1952, were approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Engineer hawing reported the completion
of the Curb and Gutter District in L.I.D. No. 739,, by the contractor; said ,work is hereby
accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll.for said district
and the City Clerk insturcted to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, 'December
22nd 1952, at 10:00 o'clock A..M., carried:, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye,-on
roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to
advertise for bids for the purchase of a Snow Plow for the Municipal Airport;: said, bids.
to be received on Monday, December 15th 1952 at 10 :,00 o'clock A.M .;; said macine to be
paid for from the 195a-budget, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that an Applicator to be used for applying Scotch
Light to street signs be pruchased by the Street Department;; said applicator to be paid
for on a rental basis not to ex -teed the sum of $625.00,, carried: Burns,. Carpenter and
Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the report of the Investment Committee, for
investments purchased during the month of November 1952.,. be accepted as follows::

ORDINANCE NO., B -1414, AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not provided
for in the 1952 budget, for the payment of a claim; and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B-1414 be passed as read,
carried :: B urns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE N04 B -1415, AN ORDINANCE amending Section 71 -d of Ordinance No. B -131 entitled:
tr'AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and trm sportation and their
incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; rescribing the powers and
duties of officers: and others in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties
and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this
ordinance, and declaring -an emergency1t; as amended by Ordinances No, B -571,; B -956, B -1186
and B- 1267;; and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1415 be passed as read, carried:
Burns, 'Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -1036, WHEREAS, Section 71 (c) of Ordinance No. •B -131, passed by they
City Commission of the City of Yakima, on the 26th day of February, 1936, and amendments,
thereto, provides that the City Commission may by resolution set aside non- parking zones,
and shall cause the same to be marked with appropriate signes or markers; and
WHEREAS, it is, necessary for the preservation of public safety, to set aside
both sides of Washington Street from South Tenth Avenue West to South twelfth Avenue
as a non - parking zone. NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YANIMA:
That the area on both sides of Washington Street from South Tenth Avenue West
to South Twelfth Avenue, be, and it is hereby set aside.as a non - parking zone for all
hours- of the day and night, and the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby directed to
install appropriate signes or markers indicating said zone.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 1st day of December, 1952,
