The City Commission met in regular session,. Mayor Burns. and Commissioners Carpenter and.
Huey present on roll 'call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 17th 1952,, were approved as read.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the City rent from the Marchant Calculating
Company one Marchant Calculator No. 10 -EFA for the City Treasurer, in the sum of $49..76
for the first month and $47.00- for each'additional month until such time as the sum set,
up in the 1953% budget shall pay the balance due thereof, carried; Burns, Carpenter and
Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, 'seconded by Huey, that the claim of the Columbia-'Asphalt Paving Co.
in the sum of $1,702.05 for Sales Tax on Airport Project No. 9 -45 -023 -9 be al lowed,, and
the City Attorney is hereby authorized to prepare an emergency ordinance to provide for
said amount, carriedr Burns, ;Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved,by Huey.,.:-seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment. roll in L.I.D. No. 742., and there being no objections in writing or otherwise:
to said improvement, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinm ce No. B- 14.11:.,
confirming said ordinance, and every part thereof, be passed as read, carried.. Burns
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO..B- 1411,. AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local.Improve-
ment District No. 742 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1379 of the
Ordinances- of the City of Yakima.
ORDINANCE NO. B- 1412,, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 729,: and providing for,the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the
payment of the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1412 be passed as read,
carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B- 141;5,,. AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
D- istrict No. 741,1 and providing for the issuance of bonds: with coupons attached for the
payment of the unpaid portion thereof.

RESOLUTION NO., G -1034, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASH:
That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts. of land included within the
following district, by constructing pipe sewers with the necessary wye: branches, drains.,
manholes, flush tanks:and water connections therefor, and to construct &.domestic water
system to serve the lots and tracts of land included within the following described
district by installing the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valvea and other appurtenances
for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use; all of said improvements to be
constructed in full a:ccordance:with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the
City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk:-.
The district to be served by' and specially benefited by and assessed for the above -
described improvements is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington,,
and is bounded as - follows,;
Beginning at the intersection of Crescent Hill Drive and.Sunset A=venue., thence
westerly along Sunset Avenue to 44th. Avenue North, thence northerly along 44th
Avenue North to a point 135 • feet north of the north line of Richey Road, thence:
easterly along a line parallel with Richey Road to Crescent Hill Drive, thence
southerly along Crescent Hill Drive to the point of beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvements are hereby
notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a• meeting of the City Comm-
ission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County,
Washington, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A..M.., on Monday, the 15th day of December, 1952;
which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said
proposed improvements or objections thereto; and for determining the method of payment
for said improvements; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice -to said
hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvements. .
The cost and expense of said improvements, including the cost of acquiring right
of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all
other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of they
property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above
described;, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at

required by law to be by him submitted..

RESOLUTION NO. C -1035, WHEREAS, Ordinance No. B -297 of the City of Yakima as amended by
Ordinance No. B- 712',: ,authorized the the City Commission of the City of Yakima to pass
resolutions designating and setting aside places on the public streets,of the City of
Yakima where taxi -cabs for hire may stand for public patronage, and to fix such charge
for said taxi stands as may be determined by the City Commission, to be paid by the
taxi -cab company wo which such space is allocated,; and
WHEREAS, the moving of taxi stands,from one location to-another
entails considerable expense-to the city in removing and installing, parking meters.,
installing signs and painting curbs, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed proper that said expense be paid by the
taxi -cab companies benefiting from a change in location, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED that as.a condition to the change in location
of any taxi stand, the applicant therefor shall pay to the City of Yakima the sum of
$35.00 for a change in location of one parking space for a taxi stand and $15.00 for
each additional charge in locat ion of a. parking space for a taxi stand, if applied for
in the same application.
