The minutes of the :regular meeting of Monday, September 22, 1952, were approved as read. Park and Wm. McCulloch were accepted as the lowest End best bid, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved= by Huey, seconded by Car penter, that this being the time for receiving bids `fbr'­' '. the purchase of a car for the City Commissioners, the following were received: Burrows Motor Cow Wagner Chevro :Let Co. 1, 348 «88 .1,358.55 The bid of Burrows Motor Co. was accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried:. Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for rading etc. 46th Avenue North L.I.D:. No. 744, the. bid of Joe Brandt in the sum of 4,.555.77, was the only one received, and said award was made to him, carried. Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in h.I.D'. No. 729, and there being an objection on the part of one of the property owners to his assessment, said hearing ishereby continued to Monday, October 6th 1952, at; 10:00 o'clock A.M.., carried:. Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved, by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D•. No. 741,. and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll, or any part thereof : - It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1395 confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof be passed as read, carried: Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B- 139.5, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District; No. 741 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1375 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. RESOLUTION NO. C -1031, WHEREAS., by appropriate resolution, the City Commission of the City of Yakima, pursuant to Ordinance No. B -297, as amended, designated one parking space at 5 South Second Street, and one parking space at 218 East Chestnut Street, as taxi stands for the City Cab Company; and . WHEREAS, the Red Top Cab Company, the successor of the City Cab Company, has made_ application to change the taxi stand from 5 South Second Street to 116 East Chestnut. street, and from 21EI East Chestnut Street to 120 East Chestnut Street, and said changes are agreeable to the City Commission; and .WHEREAS, by appropriate resolution, the City Commission of the City of Yakima, designate one parking space described as: Beginning at a. point on the east side of South Fourth Street, 124 feet south of the curb line of Yakima Avenue, and extending south on the east side of _South Fourth. Street, a distance of 12 feet, as a taxi stand for the Yellow Cal) Company; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable to change said taxi stand from said locat ion to a location described as: Beginning at a point on the east side of South Fourth Street, 52 feet south of the curb line on Yakima Avenue and extending south on the east side of South Fourth Street a distance of 12 feet. Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the space heretofore set aside at 5 South Second Street-, as a taxi stand, and the space heretofore set aside at 218 East Chestnut Street as a taxi stand, and.the space . heretofore set aside at the following location: Beginning at a point on the east side of South Fourth Street, 124 feet south of the curb line on Yakima Avenue, and extending south on the east side of South Fourth street, a distance. of 12- feet; be vacated as such taxi stands, a;nd said spaces be and they are hereby restored to standard meter zones. C -1031, continued, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one parking space in front of'116 East Chestnut Street, be and it is hereby designated and set aside as a taxi stand for the Red Trop Cab Company, that one it space,in front of 120 East Chestnut Street,.b be and it is here- by designated and set aside as a taxi stand-for the Red Top Cab Company; that one parking space in the area described.as: .Beginning at a point on the east side of South Fourth Street 52 feet south of the curb line on Yakima Avenue, and extending south on the.east side of South Fourth Street, a distance of 12 feet- be and it is hereby designated ea d set aside as a taxi stand for the ,'Yellow Cab Company. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a. condition to the establishment of salid taxi stands:, that the Red Top Cab Company shall.pay to the City the sum of $75.00 per annum for each of said spaces, and the Yellow-Cab Company shall pay to the City the sum of $75.00 per annum for its space herein designated; said payments to be made on the 1st. day of July of each and every year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that appropriate signs be installed at the spaces, hereinabove set aside as taxi stands; and that the said spaces be used exclusively for the taxis of the companies hereinabove designated. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the allocation of spaces herein made shall constitute a license only, which _license may be revoked at anytime by the City Commissi with or without cause. Moved'.by Carpenter, Seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the following equipment: Af four -door sedan for the Police Department. A Centrifugal Pump for the Irrigation Department. One hydraulic hose coupling expander for the Fire Department. All' of said bids to be received on Tuesday, October 14, 1952 at 10:00. o t clock A.
