The minutes: of the regular meeting of Monday, July 7th 1952 were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the eime for receiving bid's: for the purchase of two (2)1 Communitors for the Sewage Disposal Plant;. the following were received. Chicago Pump Co. $10,,455.00 Worthington Corp,,. 12„000000. The bid of Chicago Fump Company in the sun of $10,455.00 was. accepted as the lowest and best bid, the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima. as provided by law and the City Charter: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting ay e on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the claim of Alex J. Maxwell, in the sum of $28.22 for damages to his automobile alleged to have occurred by reason of running into a water hydrant, is hereby rejected for the reason that same was not properly presented according to law. carried, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call, Burns not voting.. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Attorney is hereby authorized and insturcted to prepare the necessary papers for the expenditure of $400,000.00 to construct an over -pass on Lenox Avenue in the City of Yakima; said proposition to be voted on at the Primary Election to be held September 9th 1952: . carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of improving; 33rd Avenue North, by constructing a curb and gutter district, L..I.D.. No. 728, said work is hereby approved and the City Engineer authorized.to prepare an assessment roll for said district, and the City Clerk instructed to give-notice of Hearing on said assessment roll for Monday, August 4th 1952:at 10 :00 o'clock A.M..: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1381, AN ORDINANCE approving rules and regulations for the government, management and use of all parks- and play gounds within the City of Yakima; prescribing the powers and dutiE;s of officers and others in relation thereto-, providing penalties for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1381, approving rules and regulations for the government, management and use of all parks and playgrounds within the City of Yakima,be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO.. B -1382, AN ORDINANCE .providing for the expenditure of funds for the purpose of improving the North side of Nob Hill Boulevard, from 16th. Avenue South to the West corporate city limits, which said funds were not provided for in the 1952 budget, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huey', seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1382: pr oviding for funds for imp owing the North side of Nob Hill boulevard from 16th Avenue South to the West corporate City limits be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call..
