The City Commission met in regular session,. Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and_
Huey Present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 16th 1952, were approved•as read.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for receiving bids for
alterations on the Administration building at the Airport,, the following were received:
Bob Yaradis $3, 500.00
Lewis A Hopkins & Co. 8, 579 000
W. J. Park & Son 89336.00
W. M. Yeaman 7,467.00
The bid of Bob Paradis in the sum of $3-,,500.00 was accepted as the lowest and b est bid;
carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call..
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for
Paving Alleys in Block 130, Huson's Addition and Block- 48, Yakima L.L.D. No. 740,, the
following were received:
Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. $2,318.80
Lone Pine Paving Co. 2,380.00
The bid of Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. was accepted as the lowest andbest bid, and the:
Mayor and City Clerk insturcted to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima - for
doing said work:: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for
constructing Curbs and Gutters on Prasch Avenue, L= ,I.D•. No, 741,. the following were
received.
Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. $3,871.25
Joe Brandt 4:19262.68.
The bid of Columbia Asphalt Paving Company in the sum of $3,871.25 was a.ccepted as the
lowest and best bid, and the Mayor and City Clerk instructed to execute a contract on
behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey
voting aye.on roll call..
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk be authorized to advertise
for bids. for the construction of an Administration Building, for the Fire Department,
said bids. to be received on Tuesday, July 22nd, 1952 at 10.:.00 o' clock Al..M.: carried,
Burns,, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call..
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that W. H. Rothe,-Architect for the construction of
the Administration Building for the Fire Department, be paid '60%, of his 7% fee at this
time: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B:- 1377, AN ORDINANCE rezoning Lot 18,. of Block 414:,, Bedker's Second
Addition, and Lots 13;, 14, and 15,." Congdon's Repla t, unrecorded, from. "B" residence:
district to "'G ", residence districts and rezoning Tracts B and C,, Bedker's Second. Add-
ition,. and Tract Cl., Bedker's Addition, from "B "' residence district to 'IC', residence
district;; and from Second Area. District to Fourth Area; District.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. R- 13:77,, rezoning Lot 18 of
Block 414,, Bedker's Second Addition, and Lots. 1.3, 14 and 15, Congdon's Replat,. unrecorde
from "B" Residence District to "C" Residence District;; and rezoning Tracts B & C Be.dkers
Second Addition and Tract "C" Bedker's Addition from "B "' Residence District to 11C'"

read: carried,, Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday June 25,
1952'at 10;00 o'clock k.M..: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.

Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns -, that this b eing the time for receiving b ids for
the improvement of the Municipal Airport, Pro je.ct No. 9 -45- 023: -2, Yakima., the following
were received ::

Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. 20,025.00.
The bid ' of Lone Pine Paving Co.; was accepted as the lowest and b est ..bid, and the Mayor
and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the.City for doing said
work. carried, Burns and Huey -voting'aye on'.-roll call,, Carpenter.absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to give
notice to bidders for the purchase of Two Communitors for the Sewage Disposal Plant;
said bids to be received on Monday, the 14th day of July 1952. at 10 :00 o' clock_ A..M.:
carried, Burns, 'Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINAL CE NO. B -1378, AN ORDINANCE authorizing the purchase of 3.,.000 acre feet of water
from the Grandview' Irrigation District and the U. S'. Bureau of Reclamation, for the sum
of $22,500..00 for domestic purposes*, from funds not budgeted in the 1952. budget,. and
declaring an emergency.
Moved.by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1378, providing for the
purchase of 3,000 feet of water from the Grandview Irrigation District and the U. S. -
Bureau of Reclamation for the sum of $22,,500,.00: for domestic purposes be passed as read:
carried, Burns, !Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.

RES'OLU_ TION NO. C- 1023`, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima Ya s submitted to the Administrator of
Civil Aeronautics of the United States, of America, a project application, dated May 21,1
1952, for a grant of federal funds for a project for the development of the Yakima
Municipal Airport, together with plans and specificat ions for such project, and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain a grant of federal funds for said
project, it is necessary for the City' of Yakima to enter into a. grant agreement with the:
United States of America, acting through the Administrator of Civil Aeronautics;, NOW,
THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section le That the City of Yakima shall enter into a grant
agreement with the United States of America., acting through the Administrator of Civil
Aeronautics for the purpose of obtaining a. grant of federal funds for the development.
of the Yakima Municipal. A.irpoDrt, which agreement is hereto attached, and by this referen
made: a part hereof.,
Section 2. The City of Yakima. specifically ratifiesi and adopts
all statements, representations:, warranties, covenants. and agreements contained in the:
project application, dated May 21,. 1952', and all additional covenants and agreements
heretofore made by the City in connection therewith.
Section 3:. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Yakima,
Washington, are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute the grant agreement .
hereto attached, in sextup•licate,. and to affix to each copy thereof the official seal of
the City of Yakima.
Adopted by the City Commission, signed and approved this 2'6th day
