The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 2, 1952, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give: notice to bidders for the construction of curbs and gutters in L..I.D:. No. 738; said bids to be received on Monday, June 16, 1952 at 10:00 o'clock A..M.: carried, Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice to bidders for the construction of curbs and gutters in L•.I.D. No. 739; saidbids to be received on Monday, June 9th 1952, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. C -1373, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improe- ment District No. 733 as created and established by Ordinance No. B-1343-.of the Ordinanc4 of the City of Yakima. Moved by.Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the, assessment-roll in L.I.D. No. 733 -, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. -B- 1373', confirming s aid ordinance and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1374, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of the alleys in Block 130, Huson's Addition and in Block 48, Yakima ;; by grading and paving the same with asphaltic concrete placed on a gravel base; establishing a Local Improvement District,` providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carp - enter, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C- 1016,. providing for paving alleys in Block 130, Huson's Addition, and Block 48, Yakima, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to s ai d improvement, or any part thereof;, It is ordered that Ordinance No. B- 1374.,, creating a Local Improvement for said district be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B- 1375„ AN ORDINM CE providing for the improvement of certain property by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs; and gutters; establishing a. Local Improvement Dis,tri�ct, providing for the method of payment .therefor, and creating a_ special fund. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and Huey present on roll call.. This meeting was called by the City Commission to interrogate the heads of all the departments of the City of Yakima, for the purpose of discussing the advisability of closing City offices on Saturday, during the months of June, July and August. After discussing the problem.; I't was moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter,that the City Attorney be requested to prepare a resolution to the effected that all City offices be closed on Saturday during the months of June, July and August: carried, Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. It was also suggested at said meeting that the question of .a salary_ raise for employees for the City of Yakima be taken under advisement and Mayor Burns was appointed to name a committee from the Chamber of Commerce and other crganizations and City employees to confer with business houses in regards to salaries paid in other organizations. ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 1952 -, 10 :00 O'CLOCK A.M.. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and Huey present on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1019 be adopted as.- read :. carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION N0, C -1019 WHEREAS, the employees of the City of Yakima who work at the City Hall are now working until 1 .-00 o'clock P .M',, on Saturday of each week, and =' WHEREAS,, it is deemed advisable to close the City Hall all day on Saturday during the months, of�,June, °July and August, of 1952;. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the City Hall of the City of Yakima shall be closed all day Saturday during the months of June, July and August, of 1952,, and the employees, of the City of Yakima who work in the City Hall shall not be required to work during said period.
