The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monde.T 'May 19th, 1952 were approved as -read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter' that this being the time for receiving bids for the
purchase of pipe for the Irrigation Department, the following bids were received;
Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company ....................1,32.4.44
Hugh F. Purcell Company... ............................... 1,363.32.
The bid of Pacific States iron Pipe Company was accepted as the lowest and best bid'.
carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
The ordinance heretofore presented for the repeal of Art.. 1, Section 31, of Ordinance
No. B -99, being the Plumbing Code of the City of Yakima, was again consiclerated and a
motion by Burns was made for the repeal of said portion of the ordinance; there being
no second to said motion, the motion was lost..
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the continued hearing
on Resolution No. C -1011, and the City Engineer having reported the percentage of'
protest in said district and recommending that Broadway from Lenox to Mead, Ledwich
Avenue from Lenox to Prasch, and Prasch Avenue from Ledwich to Voelker be elimenated
from the district, and it further appearing at the hearing that a majority of the
residents on Ledwich Avenue from Lenox to Prasch voted to remain ih the district;: It-
is ordered that Ordinance ,No.. B -1371, creating a local Imxr ovement District be p�. ssed as
read; carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1371, An ordinance providing for the improvement of certain property
by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs, and gutters; establish-
ing a Local Improvement District; p? oviding for the method of payment therefor, and
creating a special fund.
ORDINANCE NO. B: -1372, AN ORDINANCE g oviding for the expenditure of funds not Imo' ovided
for in the 1952; budget and authorizing the-purchase of real property described as
The South half of the Northeast quater of Section. 34, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.
K.,, Yakima County, Washington, EXCEPT the West 1 rod thereof for road, for airport
purposes,, and
declaring an emergency.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1372 be passed as read;
carried, Burns, Carpenter, aid Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burrs, that we do now adjourn: carried, Burns.. Carpenter,
and Huey voting aye on roll call.
