The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns- and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The-,minutes-.of the regular meeting of Monday, April 21, 1952' were approved as read.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice to bidders for the purchase of a motorcycle for the Police Department; said bidiz
to be,received.on Monday May 12th, 1952 at 10:00 o'clock A,.M.: carried, Carpenter,
Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter,, that the City of Yakima hereby bids the sum of
X12, 500.00 for an undivided- one -half (2) interest in the S2 of the N- . of Section
34 -13 -118 X.W..M.: carried„ Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1365, AN .ORDINANCE amending Sections, 3�,, 4,. 5,. and 6 of Ordinance No.
B -8043 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and providing for a license or occupation
tax upon the business of distributing aviation gasoline and lubricants, defining
offenses and providing penalties and declaring an emergency."
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. 5-1365 Amending Section 3:,,, 43P
5'and 6 of Ordinance No. B-804-be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey
voting aye on roll call..
RESOLUTION NO. C -1013, BE IT RESOLVED BY TBE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA.'
WASHINGTON: n
That it is its intention to improve 41st Avenue North from a point 110..3
feet north of the center line of Avalanche Avenue to Sunset Avenue; 42d.Avenue North
from Snowmountain Road to Sunset Avenue; Avalanche Avenue from 42d Avenue North to a
point 165 feet west of the center line of 41st Avenue North; Snowmountain Road from
44th Avenue North to a point 165 feet east of the center line of 42d Avenue North;; by
grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters ;; all of
said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk-,
The district to be served by and assessed for the above- des - Bribed improverz nt
is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit;
Beginning at a point on the south line of Sunset Avenue, 165 feet east of the
center line of 41st Avenue North ;; thence southerly and parallel with 41st
Avenue North to the south line of Lot 10 %,, Block 2.5, The Uplands; thence
westerly and parallel with Ava.1a nche Avenue to a point midway between 41st
Avenue North and 42nd Avenue North; thence southerly along aline midway
between 41st Avenue North and 42d Avenue North and said line extended to the
south line of Lot 15,, Block 22, The Uplands, thence westerly and parallel
with Summitview, Avenue to the east line of 44th Avenue North; thence northerly
along the east line of 44th Avenue North to the north line of Lot 13, Block
20., The Uplands, ;: thence easterly and parallel with Snowmountain Road to a
point; midway between 42d Avenue and 44th Avenue Ncr th ;; thence northerly al ong
a line midway between 42d Avenue North and 44 -th Avenue North and said line
extended to the South line of Sunset Avenue;; thence easterly along the south
line of Sunset Avenue, to the point of beginning.
All persons who may desire-to object to said proposed improvement are hereby
notified to op pear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City
Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock A.M., on Monday the 19th day of May,
19524., which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating
to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of
payment for said improvement ;. and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice:
of said hearing and of the intention to make, the aforesaid improvem nt.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring
right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and
all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the
property legally and properly assessable therefor as- provided by.. law and as above; ,
described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission
at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other
information required by law to be by him submitted.
