The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners. Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call*
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 31st 1952:were approved as read*
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for
constructing Lincoln Avenue Curb and* Gutter District, L. *I.dD. No* 734:, the following were
received: X-oe Brandt $10,109.90;; D. T. Gallagher $9, 311...75. Award was made 'to D. T.
Gallagher: carried,, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting We on roll call*
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids on the 5th
Avenue South and 8th Avenue South Curb and Gutter District, L. *I.D. Noe 729, the following
were received: Joe Brandt $1,769.92.; DaB lasio Brothers $5,472.72;, Columbia Asphalt:
Paving Company $5,.404.35® Award was made to Columbia Asphalt Paving Company: carried,
Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bida on the
15th Avenue Paving District, I.I *D'. Noe 723,. the following were received Joe Brandt

Asphalt Paving Company: carried, Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll.call...
ORDINANCE NO. B -13592 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of
assessments- levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement
District No. 717,, and providing for the issa ance of bonds with .coupons attached. for
the payment of the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1359 providing for the
issuance of bonds in L&I.D. No. 717 be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and
Huey voting aye on roll calle
ORDINANCE NO. B- 1360,. AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of

ORDINANCE NO.3 - 1361, AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima,
Washington, of certain pr operty contiguous to the present boundaries of'said City.
Moved by Carpenter, \seconded. by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the;
petition of *property owners. in a portion of the "`Up.land Addition "', and there being no
objections in writing or otherwise to said annexation,, or any part thereof: It, is
ordered that OYrdinm ce No. B -1361, providing for the annexation of said property to the
City of Yakima, be pa-ss.ed as read: Carried, Burns and Carpenter voting aye on roll
call, and Huey voting NO.
ORDINANCE NO..B -1362, AN ORDINANCE rezoning Lots'9,: 10 and 11,. Block 1„ Rayt's Nob Hill

District to "B"" Residence District; and rezoning the east 90 feet of the west 120 feet

Yakima County, Washington, from "B "' Residence District to Limited Business. District.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No,* B- 1362, providing for the
rez.oning of Lots 9, 10 and 11,. Block 1, Ray's Nob Hill. Addition be changed from "B"°
Residence District to "C "' Residence Class;; also the D:. 941 of the W 1201 of the N 1201
of S. 1501 of SWA:' of 24 ®13 -18 E.W,�M* from "B " Residence to Limited Business District;
also Lot a5, Block Rose Park Addition be rezoned to a "BI Residence District: carried,
Carpenter, Burns.; and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C- 11009, WHEREAS:, the 1952; budget provided for the salaries of policemen
computed on the basis. of a 44 -hour week.for each policeman,, and
WHEREAS, the hours of work of the members of the Police
Department have not been officially established, now,, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION of the City of Yakima:
That the hours: of work of the policemen of the City of Yakima
be,, and the same are hereby established as 44 -hours per week.

Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the bid of Guy Frost heretofore received in
the sum, of $15 ®00 for the` purchase of a small tract of land on N' 8th Street 'belonging to
the" City of Yakima, and Mr® Frost having declined' to° purchase said pr operty, the sum of
$15000; which he had deposited with his bid is: hereby returned to him at his request:

Moved by Burns., seconded by Huey, that the Superintendent of the Water Department, is
hereby requested to Chlorinate all effluent from the Sewage Disposal Plant, upon request
