The City Commission met in regular session,, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll. call..
The minutes° of the regular meeting of Monday, Marth P-4th 1952 were approved as read.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for the adjouned hearing on
Resolution Noe C -11003 providing for the construction of a sidewalk and concrete curbs•
and gutters -on Facific Avenue, and other streets:in said district, and there being a
substantial protest .by property owners in said district; It is ordered that project
be abandoned: carried, Carpenter, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that
construction of a domestic ,water system in
Improvement District No. 735, be' passed as
voting aye on roll call.

of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a domestic water system, establishing a
local improvement district, providing for the method of payment therefor,, and creating.
a special fund.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No,i C- 1357, providing for a sewer system on what is known as 35th Avenue South and
there being no obijections:in writing or'otherwise to said improvement, or any part
thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance Noe, B- 1357, creating L:®I *De. No. 736 be passed
as read: carried,, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting eye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1357, AN ORDINANCE providing fot the improvement of property in the.
City of Yakima, Washington, by the constuction of n& sewer; establishing a^ Local
Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefor; and creating a
special fund.
ORDINANCE NO: B- 1358, AN ORDINANCE amending Section a-of Ordinance Noe B-748.. entitled:
"'AN ORDINANCE regulating and `controlling barber schools and colleges, providing revenue
and regulation through license fees, limiting the number of barber chairs in barber
schools or colleges:, providing for the inspection and control thereof, fixing penalties
for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency "; as amended by Ordinance No.
B- 755-- and as amended by Ordinance No. B- •1229, and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1358 be passed as read::
carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns,, seconded by Huey, that the recommendation of the Planning Board to
change Lots 9, 10 and 11,. Block 1, Ray° s Nob Hill Addition from "B" Residence to "C "I
Residence District. -..The height and Area to remain the same. It is further recommended
that Lot 3.5 of Block 1, Rose Park Addition be changed from "A" Residence to "B°4
Residence.District. The height and area to remain the samee. It is further recommended
that the property at the N.E,"e corner of Lincoln Avenue and 16th Avenue North be.
changed from "B"' Residence to Limited Business District. The height and area,to
remain the same: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll e -all.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that. the petition heretofore presented for the
annexation to the City of Yakima of property designated and referred to as "The Uplands -'"'
be accepted, and an order fixing a date for hearing on said petition for Monday, April
7th 1952 at 10 :00. o" clock AC.M.>: carried, Burns: and Carpenter voting aye on roll call
and Huey voting Noe
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the bid of the Wagner Chevrolet Company in
the sum of $1,937.63'• for a 1952 Chevrolet 4 door sedan for the Police Department
having been withdrawn by said Company: It is ordered that the bid of ,the Burrows.
Motor Company in the sum of $1,887.10) less, $975.OQ, for 1950 Ford Car Noe 14, be
accepted: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.®
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the bid of Cascade Castings in the sum of
$l,300.00 for meter coverslis hereby accepted: carried,, Burns, Carpenter and Huey
voting aye on roll. call,
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to
advertise -for bids for the purchase of yellow and white paint for the Street.Department;
said bids to be received on Monday April.14th 195a -at 10:00 o "clock A..Mar carried,
Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on rol]! call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that inasmuch as bids: for a power mower for the
Cemetery were called for on the 3rd day of March, 1952 at the hour of 110 :00 o'clock A.M'&
and no bids were received: It is ordered that the Purchasing Agent be authorized to
purchase s aid machine on the open market: carried.. Burns:.. Carpenter and Huey voting
aye on roll- call®
