The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 10th 1952, were approved as read. Moved- by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for -the hearing on Resolution No. C- ]100, providing for the construction of conorete Sidewalks and curb and gutters on South 8th Street and Pacific IAvenue and there being considerable protest from property owners-in said district;;, It is ordered that said hearing'be continued to Monday March 24th 1.952: at 10, :0,0 o'clock A.E4.: carried,' Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye 'on roll call. _ , . - moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this. being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1006, providing for the constrction of curb& and gutters on Logan Avenue and Mead, and there being a protest from the property oweners in said district: It is ordered that said improvement be abandoned: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting eye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that' this being the time for the hearing oar. Resolution No.,C -1004 providing for widening a portion of Lincoln Avenue from 6th Avenue to 16th Avenue and constructing concrete curbs and gutters, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement of any part thereof-, it is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1354 creating a Local Improvement District be passed as,, read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE N0. B- 1354,.,providing for the improvement of certain property by removing the existing concrete 'curbs and gutters, widening the existing pavement, and constructing new, curbs and gutters;; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. RESOLUTION NO. C -1008, WHEREAS, the City Commission of the'City of Yakima deems. it necessary to procure real property adjacent to city property used for street equipment, and WHEREAS, the following described real property, to -wit :. That part of the Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter, Section 25, Township 13" North, Range 18, EM,"91ff., described as follows: Beginning at a point 30 feet Zest and 105'.9. feet South of ,the Northeast corner of said subdivision- thence West 14&.25 feet- thence South 49 feet, 10) 1/5 inches;; thence East 143.25 feet;; thence North to the point of beginning, and the owner thereof, namely, John Hook, has offered to sell. said property to the City of Yakima for the total sum of $4,300.00, which sum is the fair and reasonable market value of said premises;, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the above - described real property be purchased from John Hook for the Total sum of $4,300.00, for street equipment for the City of Yakima. That the said sum of $4- 0 300.00 be paid by the City of Yakima: as follows:. By the issuance of a warrant upon the proper fund of.said city in the sum of $40 3n0�.00, to John Hook, The said funds! to be delivered upom receipt of a good and sufficient warranty deed to the above - described premises, and upon the delivery to the C'ity of Yakima by the said seller of a title insurance policy, showing marketable title to the said property. Moved by.Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs: and gutters in L.I.D. No. 723, and also L.IZI-.- No. 729; bids _on both districts to be received on Monday, the 7th day of April 1952:: carried,, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll ca 11. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that repairer to the extent of $285 #00 for the construction of a partition in the City Engineer's office is hereby granted. carried,, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye-on roll call. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that this being the time for receiving bids', for automotive insurance of personal.liability and property damage for the City of Yakima3:. It is ordered that said bid be awarded to the Goldade Insurance Company in the sum of $3,,187.27: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.. Moved by C arpent er, seconded by Huey, that bids for two 4 -door cars for the Police Department heretofore received on March 10th be awarded to the Burrows. Motor Company in the sum of $1,887.10 each- less trade in -of,$2,400.00;- carried- Burns, - Carpenter "and .'... Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that bids heretofore called for on traffic controls, etc* and which were tabulated and held for further consideration, be awarded to the Eagel Signal-Corporation in the-sum of .$32'1.75 and Westinghouse in the sum of $948.34.
