The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 25th, 1952 were approved as read. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey that the claim of Sidney Carlstrom and Eleanor Carlstrom, husband and wife, for Harold Peterson, a minor, for damage in the sum of $100,692.74, alleged to ha ye been sustained by reason of an accident occuring at the Intersection of Broadway.Avenue and West Yakima Ave., on the 25th of January 1952, is hereby rejected; carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. B-1352,-providing for the expenditure of funds not provided for in the 1952 Budget, for the payment of salary for a clerk in the City Treasurer's office; and declaring an emergency. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1352 providing for an extra clerk in the City Treasurer's department be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B, -1353, providing for the licensing and regulating of the business of private detectives; and providing a penalty for the violation hereof. Moved-by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B- 1353,.providing for the licensing and regulating of private detective agencies, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION N0. C -10079 BE IT RESOT,VED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district, by constructing pipe sewers with the necessary wye branches, drains, manholes, flush tanks and water connections therefor; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the ph.ns and speci- fications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and specially benefited by and assessed for the above- described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and is bounded as follows: Beginning at a point on the north line of Tieton Drive, 14043 feet west of South Glenn Drive, thence northerly along the west Corporate Limits of the Lity of Yakima to the north line of Gould's Acre Tracts, thence easterly along said north line to South Hillcrest Avenue, thence southerly-Along South Hillcrest Avenue to West Chestnut Street, thence easterly along West Chestnut Street to 34th Avenue South, thence southerly along 34th Avenue South to Tieton Drive, thence westerly along Tieton Drive to the point of beginning; also Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, Block 3 of Rose Park and Lots 4, 5, 9, 10, and 11 of Nagle's Nob Hill Half -Acre Tracts. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve,® ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any at a meeting of the Lity 'Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima (County, Washington, at the hour of 10.000 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 31st day of March, 1952; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing o:f all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. (continued on page 309) 1 Q n 1 L! r 309_ MARCH, 3., ._ 19.52 ( continued from Page 308) The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering,,surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed agains all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the.City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for.said hearing.. all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
