The City Commission met in regular session,-Mayor Burns and".Commissioners Carpenter
and Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday.. February'18th, 1952 were approve as read®
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that this being the time for recei vin bids for
two turbine pumps,, that the.bid of Rankin Equipment Company in the sum of 1900.80 and
$1, 502 *00 'was "accepted . at { the lowest and -"best bid: `-' carried'- Bums, 'Carpenter and. Huey
voting aye on "roll 'call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by'Burns, that this being "the time'for receiving bids.for
the City printing for the year 1952; The Republic Publishing Company was the only
bidder with a bid of 95¢ per column inch; said bid was accepted: carried, Burns,
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B;�13,51, a- mending Section 71.. ( -a) of Ordinance No. B. -131, entitled: "'AN
ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel_ and transportation and their in-
cidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and
duties of officers and others'in relation thereto; defining offenses, providing penalties
and repealing certein ordinances concerned With or relating to the subject matter of
this ordinance,.and declaring an emergency;" as amended by Ordinance No, B -956, B -1068,
B -11869 B -1233, and B' -1339; and delaring an..emergency.

passed as read: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on "roll call)
Resolution No. ,C -1005, WHEREAS, Article 8 of Ordinance No. B -131, passed by.the City
Commission of the City of Yakima on the 26th day of February, 1956, and amendments there•
to; provides among other things that the City Commission shall, by resolution, designate
the locat16ris '.f or °`parallel 'parkirig, 'as 'they -in their `discretion '-may deem "necessary; and
shall cause the -same to be marked with appropriate signs or markers; and
WHEREAS, it" i's` "necessary' for' the preservation of putilic''safety`to
designate'paral'lel parking;- locations "in the City of Yakima; 'now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY' THE CITY'.COMMISSION "OF THE CITY'OF YAKIMA.4
That both sides of West Yakima. Avenue from 6th Avenue west to 7th
Avenue, b`e'designated as zones for parallel parking.

RESOLUTION NO. C -1006, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY 'OFIiYAKIMA, WASH.
That it is Its intention to improve 4th Avenue South from Logan
Avenue to Mead Avenue; by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs
and gutters; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plan:
and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The-district to be served by' and assessed for the above- described
improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Logan Avenue,
166.8 feet west of the center line of 4th Avenue South;
thence easterly ' along the center -line of Logan Air6Q6' and,
said center line extended, to a point 160 feet east of the
centerline of 4th Avenue South; thence southerly and
parallel with 4th Avenue South to Mead Avenue; thence
westerly along Mead Avenue to a point 166.1 feet west of
the center line of 4th Avenue South; thence northerly to
the point of beginning.
..All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o4 clock A.M. on Monday, the 17th day of March,
1952; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby•directed,to'give du,e notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided bylaw and as
above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the (City
Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearings all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
