The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, January 28th 1952, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the continued hearing on the Rose Park Irrigation District be continued to Monday, February llth 1952:, at 10;00 otclock A. M.: Carried Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Carpenter not voting. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the following report of the Investment Committee for investments-purchased furing the month of January 1952 be approved as follows :: Commissioners. TAHOMA CEMETERY RULES AND REGULATIONS' RESOLUTION N0, C -1001, A RESOLUTION prescribing rules and regulations for the operation, government and control of Tahoma Cemetery. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. FEES AND CHARGES. - All -fees and charges provided for herein shall. be paid in advance. For purposes of this resolution, grave sizes referred to herein shall.be defined as followsz "State "' shall mean an outside -measurement of approximately 31 x 86�inches. "Regular" shall mean an outside measurement of approximately 29x86 inches. 'tZ -0" shall mean an outside measurement of approximately 24x73;inches. "4 -0" shall mean an outside measurement of approximately 20x60 inches. '!3 -0" shall mean an outside measurement of approximately 2Ox47 inches. "2 -011 shall mean an outside measurement'of approximately 18x37 inches. 'tExtra State" shall mean an outside measurement of approximately 35x86 inches. "Jumbo "' shall mean an outside m asurement of approximately 37x92 inches. "Metal-Vaults" shall'mean an outside m asurement of approximately 34x88 inches. t °Concrete Vaults" shall mean an- outside measurement of approximately 36x92 in. Section 2. SCHEDULE OF PRICES. The following- prices are fixed for all unsold or repossessed property in Tahoma Cemetery, which price to include Perpetual Care. No property to be sold without Perpetual Care. SECTION A All of Section Ax north of a line drawn between the Southwest Corner of Block 57 and the Southeast corner of Block 39, and Block 63, known.as the "County and Old -Age- Pension Plot," shall be sold at the rate of $9.50 for the regular and 5 -0 sizes, and $5.00 for 4 -0, 3�0, and 2 -0 sizes. The remainder of Section A� shall be sold at the rate of $40;00 per lot. SECTION .B All--of Section B: shall be sold at' the rate of $35.00 per lot. SECTION C All of that part of Section C -lying East of a North -South line drawn between the West side of Block 7 and the West side of Block 322 shall be sold at the rate of $45.00 per lot. All of that part of Section C lying East of a North -South line drawn between the West side of Block,17 and Block 312 and the above - mentioned line shall be'sold at the rate of $50.00 per lot. All of that part of Section C lying West of the above mentioned North - South line shall.be sold at the rate of $55.00 per lot. SECTION D All of Section D shall be sold at the rate of $80.00 per lot. SECTION h All of Section L. lying North of a line drawn between the South side of Block 76 and the South side of Block 100 and East of line drawn from the West side of Block 25 to the West side of Block 76,, known as the "New County and Old Age Pension Plot,.'t' shall be sold at the rate of $7.50 per lot for Regular and 5 -0 sizes,. and $2.50 per lot for 4 -0, 3 -0, and.2 -0 sizes, the only charge being that for Perpetual Care. That past; of Section L: lying West of the "New County and Old-Age Pension Plot, "` and North of a line drawn from the South side of Block 11& to the South side of Block. 116, shall be sold at the rate of $25.00 per lot.. The remainder of Section L shall be sold at the rate of $45.00 per lot. I ..O.O .F ..SECTION All unsold or repossessed lots in the I.0'.O.F. Section shall be sold at the rate _of $30.00 per lot. MASONIC SECTION All of the Masonic Section lying East of a line drawn between the.-West side- of Block _66 and- the West side of Block 71. (known as the Lower Masonic Section) shall. be sold at the rate of $30.00 per lot. That.-part of the: Masonic Section lying West of a line drawn from the East side of Block 50 and the East side of Block 54, known as the "Upper Masonic Section1". shall be sold at the rate of $40.00 per lot. The remainder of this section, known as the "New Masonic Baby P'lot,n shall be sold at the rate of $11.00 per lot -. CITY SECTION All. of the City Section shall be sold at- the rate of $30..00 per lot. Prices for all lots in walkways extending East and.Wbst in the above sections: shall be the same as provided for in the section in which they are located. The following p? ices are fixed for the care of all property in the Tahoma=. Cemetery which has been heretofore sold: Annual Care shall hereafter be charged at the rate of $1 «00 per year for each grave. The charge for Perpetual Care shall be $15400 straight for each grave placed under Perpetual Care. Section 3. ADMISSION. Persons with dogs or firearms shall not be permitted to enter the grounds, except that this shall not apply to the use of firearms in any military service. Rapid driving within the, cemetery is prohibited. Section 4., APPLICATION FOR BURIAL. Application for interment or disinterment must be made at least twenty -four hours in advance to the Cemetery Superintendent. Section 5. BURIAL PERMIT. A burial permit must, in all cases, be filed with the Cemetery,Super'intendent before interment. Section 6. SUNDAY BURIALS. Interments, disinterments or remova]s, will-not be allowed on Sunday or a Legal Holiday, or Saturday afternoon, except in case of an emergency. Section 7, GRAVES-. The prices for opening and closing of graves for-adults are as follows: Regular $25.00 State 25.00 Extra.state .30.00 Vault s: 35.00 5 -0 20.00 Ashes 3.00 The price for a cement marker shall be $2,.500 The prices for opening and closing of graves for infants are as. follows:. 2 -0 3 =0 4 -0 5.50 8.50; 8.50 The size in all cases is determined by the funeral director in charge. Only one interment will be allowed in any grave, except in cases: of mother and infant child, or t win children, or two children buried at the same time. All graves shall be numbered with a permanent number and an accurate record kept of the name of the decedent and the number of the grave. The charge for exhuming bodies will be the same asp the opening and closing charge as shown above. Section 9. VAULTS. At11.interments must be made in cement liners, cement vaults, or steel vaults. The cement liners shall be made according to specifications; designated by the City Commission, Section 10. TOMBS. No tomb shall be erected on top of the ground. Section 11., FOUNDATIONS. Foundations for all monuments shall be built by the: City only, at the expense of the owner.' A11 foundations must be six inches larger all around than the' base of the. monument, to a depth of six inches, and said foundation must be flush with the ground level. The charge for foundations shall be seventy -five cents per cubic foot. There shall be a. minimum charge of $ 5.00) for a 11, foundations . S'-dot-ion 120 MONUMENTS.. Ail monuments in Section D� and E'shall have a maximum height of 30 inches.' Upright foot stones -will not be allowed in the Cemetery. All monuments must be set on line according to Cemetery survey except on tracts or irregular shape which the Cerm tery Superintendent will determine. All bases for monuments must be made of granit. No sandstone, marble or artificial bases will be permitted. No headstones will be allowed in new sections or in the Masonic Baby Plot. All markers placed'in Section L,, in the Masonic Baby Plot, and that part "of Section E lying south of a line drawn from-the Southwest corner of Block 35 to the Southeast corner of Block 299, and west of a line drawn from the Southeast °corner of Block 29 to the Southeast corner of Block 68, thence west to the Southwest corner of Block 67, thence South to the Southwest corner of Block 144, shall be level with the ground. The charge for setting a stone not exceeding one foot by two feet in size; shall be $10..00, and an additional charge of '75/ per inch shall be made for each additional inch. Soldiers,f stones shall be set without charge. Section 13'. TREES AND SHRUBS. The indiscriminate planting of-trees and shrubs! in the cemetery shall not be allowed and it shall be the duty of the Cemetery.\ Superintendent to have all objectionable features in the landscape removed, and if the trees or shrubs in any lot become detrimental-to adjacent °lots- or avenues, the Cemetery Superintendent shall remove them upon order from the superintendent of Streets. and Publi c Impr overre nts . Sectionl 14. STRUCTURES. Coping, fences, posts and chains, and all. wooden structures about lots," blocks or graves are prohibited, and if any lnscriptlon, monument, effigy or other structure, which the Superintendent of Streets and Public Imp? ovements; deems offensive or improper, be placed in or upon any lot or grave, the same shall. be removed upon order of the said Superintendent. 1. Section 15. DESIGNS. Funeral-designs and floral pieces will be "removed as soon as the same become unsightly, to a place designated by the Cemetery Superintendent Section 16. RECEPTACLES. Receptacles for cut flowers must "be sunk level with the ground, thus insuring the safety of such articles and facilitating the cutting of the grass from the grave. Tin cans sunk in the ground are prohibited. Recep.tacle:s must be approved by the Cemetery Superintendent.' Section`179 EMPLOYEES. A-11 employees or other workmen engaged in performing work within the confines of the cemetery shall be under the supervision and direction of the Cemetery Superintendent. Vistors must not interfere with the performance of duties of any employee or groundskeeper. Section 18. ARTICLES LOST AND FOUND. Lost and found article s are to be turned in to the.Cemetery Superintendentas office. Section 19. RUBBISH. All paper and other rubbish must be deposited, by the person responsible therefor, in a receptacle .provided for that purpose. Section -20. DEEDS. As2 provided for. by Ordinance Noe. A- 2.52., any owner desiring to deed a part of his tract,to another person must have the approval of the: transfer by the Commissioner of Public Works. Any transfer not so made shall be of no force or effect. Section 210 POLICE POWER. The Cemet,ery Superintendent is vested with police! power to arrest without warrant any offender in the cemetery. He is directed to expell from the cemetery any person disturbing its sanctity by boisterous: or other improper conduct, or who shall violate any of the foregoing rules. Section 22. PURCHASE CONTRACTS. Perpetual Care and lots may be purchased on time as per contracts set up by the City Commission.. Under this plan no lot or block will receive Perpetual Care until said contract is paid in full, nor can any lot or block be used until property is paid in full.
