in regu: ..r session,. Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter
and
Huey
present on
roll
call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 15, 1951 were approved as read.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that the hearing on the re- zoning of property at
16th Avenue and Summitview be postponed to Tuesday October 30th 1951: carried Huey,
Carpenter and Burns voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City Engineer having reported the completion
of the improvement of alley paving in L.I.D. No. 7191 by the contractor, said work
is hereby accepted, and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll for-
said district, and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said
assessment for Tuesday, November 13th, 1951, at 10 :00 o'clock A.M. :, carried Burns,
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the adjourned hearing
on Resolution No. C -990, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters l on Mulder
D rive, etc., it was ordered that the City proceed to create a local improvement
district, eliminationg 5th Avenue, 8th Avenue and Stewart Street from said district*,:
carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.`
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the.hearing on
the assessment roll. in L.I..D. No. 698, and there being insufficient protest against
said assessment, or any part thereof; it is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1309
confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read; carried
Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1309, confirming the assessment roll covering Local ImT' ovement District
No. 698 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1155 of the Ordinances of the
City of Yakima.
ORDINANCE 90. B;-�,1310, providing for the improvement of certain property by grading,
ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; establishing a
Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating
a special fund.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1310 be passed as read:
carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO.. C- 9913,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to improve 28th .Avenue South and 29th
Avenue South from Bonnie Doon Avenue to Nob Hill Boulevard; by grading, ballasting,
surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; all. of said improvements to
be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications.to.be prepared
by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described
improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as followls, to -wit:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 402 Shaver Addition;
thence southerly and parallel with 28th Avenue South to Nob Hill
Boulevard; thence westerly along Nob Hill Boulevard to the South-
west corner of Lot 42, Block lA Shannon Homes; thence northerly
and parallel with 29th Avenue South to Bonnie Doon Avenue; thence'
easterly along Bonnie Doon Avenue to the point of beginning.
All-persons who may desire to object to said W oposed improvement.
are hereby notified to ep pear and present such of jections, if zany, at a meeting of
the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of, Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M., on Tuesday, the 13th
day of November, 1951; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all
matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for
determining the method of payment for said improvements, and the City Clerk is hereby
directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the afore-
said improvement.
The cost-and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall' be borne by and a ..sse,ssed
against all of the p? operty legally and properly assessable- therefor as provided by
law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby. directed to submit-to the
City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the
data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THIS 22nd day of October, 1951.
