The City 'Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 8th, 1951 were approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the claim of .Flossie M. Wise, for damages
alleged to have been sustained, in the sum of $250.00 by reason of.break in sewer
line at No. 2301 West Chestnut Street, be rejected: carried Burns, .Carpenter and.
Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by'Burns, seconded by Huey, that the-Garfield School students be permitted to
operate a caliope for the benefit of the school:. carried, Huey, Carpenter and Burns
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that the bid of the National Cash Register
Company in the sum of $3;,105.00 for a No. 2187 Cash Register to be pruchased by the'
Water, Irrigation and Garbage Departments, is hereby accepted :, carried Burns, Huey
and Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter that the IB aring on Resolution No. C -990 heretofore
adopted by the City Commission.be again postponed to Monday, October 29, 1951, at
10;;00 .01 clock A. M.: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION N0. C -992, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKII1A,.WASHINGTON -,
That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system to serve
all of the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district
situated in Yakima County:
Beginning at the intersection of the east line of 25th Avenue South
and the south line of Tieton Drive; thence easterly along Tieton
Drive a distance of 135 feet; thence, southerly and parallel-with
25th Avenue South to the north right of way line of the Nache.s-
Cowiche C anal; thence westerly along said right of way line to a
point 142 feet west of 25th Avenue South; thence northerly and parallel
with 25th Avenue South to the south line of-Tieton Drive„ thence
easterly along said south line to the point of beginning.
Said improvement,to consist of the installation of the necessary mains,
fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for
domestic use, and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are
hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of,Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10:.00 o'clock A,.M., on Monday, the 5th day
of November, 1951; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all
matters relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for
determining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed
to give due notice of said YB aring and of the intention to make the aforesaid
imp.^ ovement..
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection,.
publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as
provided by law and as above described; and,the City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Commission at .or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing,
all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION THIS 15th day of October, 1951.

roll call.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huey
and Carpenter present on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, 'that this being the time
on the petition for re- zoning the E 1711 of the W. 3011 of
of the SW 4 of Section 2.4 -13 -18 E.W.M.; It is ordered that
until Tuesday, October 30th, 1951, at 10 :00 o! clock A.M.

Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter that we do now adjou
and Burns voting aye on roll call.
