The k'ity Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners i.Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, September 24, 1951' were approved as
read.
Moved by Huey, seconded.by Burns, that the City Engineer having reported the completion
of the Viola Avenue Curb and Gutter District, L. I. D.. No. 698, by the contractor;
said work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer is hereby authorized to prepare an
assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk instucted.to give Notice of
hearing on said roll for Monday, October, 22, 1951, at 10 :00 o1 clock A. M.: carried
Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that upon the recommendation fo the Planning
Commission, the following property be rezoned from "C" Residence to Limited Business
District and that a hearing be set for Monday, the 8th day of October 1951, to wit:
Beginning at the point on Summitview Avenue, 1301 East of 16th. Ave; thence East along
Summitview Avenue 1711; then.ce South 1151 to the North line of West "'A1.' Street; thence
west on West "A" Street 1711; thence north 1161 to.the point of beginning: carried
Carpenter, Huey . and Burns voting aye on roll call. -
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the petition of Walter J. Kennedy Jr., et al,
asking for the annexation of additional territory in "The Uplands'1' Addition to the
City of Yakima, be accepted and placed on the table for further consideration pending
additional information relative to water service: carried-Carpenter, Burns and
Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the report of the Investment Committee
for investments purchased by the City Treasurer during the month of September 1951, is
hereby accepted as follows.

ORDINANCE NO. B -1299, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement
District No. 704 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1169 & B -1181 of the
Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No. T 4, providing for the Broadway Curb and Gutter District,,
and there being no objection to said assessment roll, or any part thereof; It is
ordered that Ordinance No.-B-1299 confirming said assessment roll, and every part
thereof, be passed as read carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1300, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement
District Not 710 asGeated and established by Ordinance No. B -1195 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 710, providing for the 5th and 6th Avenue Curb and
Gutter District, and there being no objections to said assessment roll, or any,' part
thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No.-B -1300, confirming said assessment roll and
every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye
on roll call.

ORDINANCE NO. B- 1301, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement
District No. 716 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1232 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this.b eing the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 716, providing for the Rose Park Curb and Gutter
District, and -there being no objections to said assessment roll, or any part thereof;
It is ordered that Ordinance No.. B -1301 confirming said assessment-be passed as
read; carried Burns, ;Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B- 13()2:, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement
District No. 718 as created and establised by Ordinance No. B -1236 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on
the assessment roll in L.I.D.-No. 718,r providing for the Maclaren Street Curb and
Gutter District,and there being no objections to said assessment roll, or any part
thereof; It .is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1302, confirming said assessment roll,
and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Carpenter, Burns and-Huey voting
aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1303, fixing the amount of the tax levies necessary to raise the
amount of the estimated expenditures of the City of Yakima, Washington, for the
ensuing year to be levied upon the real and personal property of said city.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing. on
the preliminary budget; It is ordered that said hearing be continued from day to day
until Friday, October 5th, 1951: carried, Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on
roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5th, 1951.
The City-Commission-met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huey
and Carpenter present on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that the City,Commission having recessed from
day to day, since :Monday, the lst day of October 1951, for the purpose of passing
the final budget of the city -for the year 1952, and there being no objections_ on the
part of any property owner against said budge, or any part thereof;. It is ordered
that Ordinance No. B -1303 fixing the amount of the tax levies necessary to raise the
amount of the estimated expenditures of the City of Yakima for the ensuing year to
be levied upon the real and personal property of said city, b e passed as read-:
carried, Carpenter, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that we do now adjourn:
