The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 13, 1951, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for a power grader for the Street.D epartment, the following were received: Feenaughty Machinery tCo. in the sum of 5,555.00, and Howard °Cooper Corporation $5,410.00 plus $1,680.00 for attachments. The bid of Feenaughty Machinery 'Co. was awarded the contract in the sum of $5,555.00: carried - Burns, -Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey,.seconded by Uarpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids for paving the various alleys provided for by L.I.D. No. 724, and the bid of the Columbia Asphalt Paving Co.. in the sum of $4,103.00 being the only bid received; upon recommend- ation of the Lity Engineer, said Company was awarded the contract and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the 'City of Yakima for 'doing said work upon receipt of the proper bond required by law: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the petition of Richey & GilbertfCo. and others for annexation of The Uplands and other property more fully described in said petition, and there being no objections to the annexation of said,property, or any part thereof: It -is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1279 be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1279, providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington of certain property contiguous to the present boundaries of said Ci.ty. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 686, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1280, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: Carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE N.O. B -1280, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 686 as created and established by Ordinance No.'B -1067 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter,,that this being the time for the hearing on the' assessment roll for L.I.D. No.-.702., and there being no objections, in writing or other- wise, to said-assessment roll, or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1281 confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B- 1281,,confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 702 as created and established by Ordinance No. B =1159 of the Ordinances of the City, of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I•.D. No. 709, and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1282 confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Burns., Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1282, confirming the assessment roll covering_Local Improvement District No. 709 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1183 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 707, and there being no objections, in writing or other- wise, to said Assessment Roll, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance ,No. B -1283 confirming said assessment roll, and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Burns; Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1283, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 707 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1178 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. RESOLUTION NO. C -987, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE !CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON :. . That it is its intention to improve 33rd Avenue North from Summitview Avenue to the north line of Hazelwood Addition; by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City L lerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above - described improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of Summitview Avenue and 33rd Avenue Forth; thence west along Summitview Avenue to the west line of Hazelwood Addition; thence north along said west line to the north line of said Addition; thence easterly along said north line extended to a point 125 feet east of the east line of 33rd Avenue North; thence southerly and para- llel with said east line to Summitview Avenue;. thence westerly to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to'b e held at its office in the City-Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 10th day of September, 1951; which time and place are, hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determin- ing the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed (Continued on Page No. 266 ) X65 August 20, 1951 (Continued from Page No. -265) to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improve- ment. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquir- ing right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior t'o the date fixed herein for-said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. C -988, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system to serve all of the lots and tracts of land included within the following- described dis- trict situated in.Yakima County, Washington: Beginning at the intersection of Summitview Avenue and 33rd Avenue North; thence west along Summitview Avenue to the west .line of Hazelwood Addition; thence north along said west line to the north line of said Addition; thence easterly along said north line extended to a point 125 feet east of the east line of 33rd Avenue North; thence southerly and parallel with the east line to Summitview Avenue; thence westerly to the point of beginning. Said improvement.to consist of the installation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use, and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifi- cations to be prepared by.the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed- improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting -of the City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the-City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 oeclock A.M., on Monday, the 10th day of September, 1951, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
