The minutes of the regular.meeting of Monday, July 30, 1951, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the improvement of North Street from North First Street to.North 6th Avenue be authorized, and the curb and gutter and storm sewer to be constructed be let by contract and the balance to be done by force account: carried Burns, (Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids on the curb and gutter and storm sewer construction on North Avenue from North lst Street to North 6th Avenue, the following were received; Perry Hayes, $6,373.25; Larry DeBlasio, $5,390.00; Joe Brandt, $4,677.30;. G. G. Teskey, $5,250.40; and D. T. Gallagher, $4,530.25. The bid of D. T. Gallagher was accepted as the lowest and best bid and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work: carried Burns'. Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the report of the Investment Committee for investments purchased during the month of July, 1951, be approved as follows: Commissioners Yakima, Washington Gentlemen: The following investments were purchased during the month of July, 1951: Cemetery Trust L.I.D. 686 - Warrant 4795 Warrant 4796 L.I.D. 703 - Warrant 4793 L.I•.D. 707 - Warrant 4794 L.I.D. 712 - Warrant 4797 A. Richter City Treasurer 16.50 31.00 65.00_ 49.:00 205.50 $5,422.92 785.71 367.00 �6; 208.63 $6,575.63 Yours very truly, (Signed) Gladys H.'Richter City Treasurer' Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -984, for alley paving between 18th and 19th Avenues from Bell to Graham Street; Block 6, Modern Addition; Block 3, Highland Addition, and a portion of Block 291, Capitol Addition, and there being no objection in writing, or otherwise, to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1274, creating L.I.D. No. 724, be passed as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1274, providing for the improvement of the alley between 18th Avenue South and 19th Avenue South, from Bell Street to Graham Street; the alley in Block 6, Modern Addition; the alley in Block 3, Highland Addition; and a portion of the alley in Block 291, Capitol Addition; by grading and paving with asphaltic concrete on a gravel base; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund.
