The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, July 23, 1951, and adjourned meeting - thereof, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of the sewer between 16th and 17th Avenue South from Nob Hill Boulevard to Grant Street, L.I.D. No. 686, said improvement is hereby accepted and the 'City Engineer is hereby authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, August 20, 1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll.,call. Moved by Huey,' seconded by Carpenter, that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of the 1st Avenue South and Viola Avenue Curb and Gutter District, L.I.D. 102, said improvement is hereby accepted, and the City'Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district and the City 'Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, August 20, 1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of the curb and gutter and.surfacing'district on 34th Avenue North from Summitview Avenue to Jefferson Avenue, L.I.D. No. T 7, said improvement is hereby accepted-and the City -engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said dis- trict and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, August 20, 1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried Burns, `,arpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that the City Engineer having reported the com- pletion of the North Grandview Avenue Sewer District, L.I.D. 709, said improvement is hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, August 20,1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried Burns, Carpenter. and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the claim of Lucy Murphy, in the sum of $2,650.00 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling on a defective sidewalk at the Southwest corner of 4th and "A" Street is hereby rejected: carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. Moved by Duey, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1272 re- zoning the .west 80 feet of Lots 9 and-10, Block 167, Graf ton's Addition, be passed as read; carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye_on,roll call._ ORDINANCE NO. B -1272, re- zoning the West 80 feet of Lots 9.and 10, Block'167, Grafton's Addition to North Yakima ( now Yakima, VUashinx;ton) ; from "B" Residence District to Limited Business District. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1273 rezoning the South Half of Lot 16, Block 5, Broadway Park Addition be passed as read: carried Burns, Huey and Carpenter voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO.-B-1273, re- zoning the South Half of Lot 16, Block 5, Broadway Park A ddition*to.Yakima, Washington; from "B" Residence District to Business District, and from Area District 2 to Area'District.4. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that Resolution No. C -985 be adopted as read: carried Burns, Carpenter.and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -985, WHEREAS, the CITY OF YAKIMA is the owner of certain premises commonly known as the YAKIMA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; and WHEREAS, it is for the best interests of the City and of the Airport to lease the Graded Areas in said Airport, for the purpose of planting and growing alfalfa thereon; and WHEREAS, Lowell R. Anderson and Donald G. Garrett desire to enter into a lease of said Graded Areas, and to grow alfalfa thereon for a period of five years, with an option to renew for an additional five -year period; and to pay the City 10% of the. net returns for the first year, and .10% of the gross returns for all ,succeeding years; NOW, THEREFORE, IT 'IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Yakima, a lease of the Graded Areas of the Yakima Municipal Airport premises, according to the terms thereof; hereto attached and by this reference made a part hereof.
