The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 30, 1951, were approved as read. Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that the claim of Clarence Hamilton, an employee of the City Vater Department, for damages in the sum of -41000.00 alleged to have been sustained by reason of the caving in of the ditch in which he was working on North 16th .Avenue, on Apr. it 9, 1951, is hereby rejected: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by iiuey, seconded by Carpenter, that the hearing on Resolution No. C -969 be con- tinued for another week: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Larpenter, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for paving various alleys in the City of Yakima in L.I.D. No. 719, and the bid of Columbia Asphalt &, Paving Company in the sum of $7,570.30, being the only bid received for doing said work; said bid is hereby awarded to said Company and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper bond as required by law: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by nuey, seconded by Carpenter, that Resolution No. C -971 be adopted as read: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. 'C -971, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima, Washington, is the owner of the following described personal property; to -wit: 1 - 1936 3 -ton White Truck, Model 709, with metal garbage bed complete with hoist and power take-off. 1 - 1936 3 -ton White Truck, Model 704, with metal garbage bed complete with hoist and power take -off. 1 - 1937 2 -3 ton Studebaker Truck, Model J -201 with metal garbage bed complete with hoist and power take -off. 1 - 1937 2 -3 ton International Truck, Model D -401 with metal garbage bed, complete with hoist and power take -off. 2 - Metal garbage beds complete with hoists and power take -offs. 1 Only Austin- Wiestern Street Sweeper. 1 Only -White Truck, 1926 model. 2 Electric Ranges (Junk) Old Batteries and ivIetal Scrap ( Junk) Caterpillar engine (1936 ?) L -M -EU IB -1030. Butane tank, about 100 gal. and, WHEREAS, it is for the best interest of the City of Yakima and, its departments to sell the above- described personal property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the above described personal property be sold to the highest bidder for each item thereof; and the 'City 'Clerk of the City of Yakima be, and she is hereby directed forthwith to publish a notice to bidders for the sale of said personal property.
