HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/30/1951 Business Meeting1 1 April 30, 1951 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 23, 1951, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids on curb and gutter district in L.I.D - . No. 710, the following were received: G. G.' Teskey $10,288.62; Perry Hayes 4p9, 54.49, and Joe Brandt 9, 303.17. The bid of Joe Brandt was accepted as the lowest and best bid'and the Mayor and City `clerk authorized to execute a contract for doing said, work on behalf of the City of Yakima upon receipt of the filing of the proper bond as required by law: carried Burns, 'Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huev, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on.- Resolution No. C -969, providing for the .improvement of Lenox Avenue, et al by construct- ing curbs and gutters and there being a protest filed by property owners in said dis- trict; It is ordered that the City Engineer check said protest and said hearing contin- ued for one week: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that the report of the Investment Committee for investments purchased during the month,of April, 1951, is` hereby approved as follows: City Commissioner's Yakima, Washington Gentlemen: The following investments were purchased during the month of April: Cemetery Trust Yakima L.I.D. 664 - Bonds 1 & 284/301 $9,078.77 Yakima L.I.D. 706 - Warrant 4749 12624.41 $10,703-18 L.
