February 26, 1951
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Carpenter and
Huey present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 19, 1951, were approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the claim -of Everett E. Melville, for damages in
the sum of $400.00 alleged the have been sustained by reason of running machines upon_
property located at No. 3003 Second Street in Union Gap, Washington, is hereby rejected:
carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being the time for receiving bids on the
Jefferson Avenue Irrigation System, L.I.D. No. 712, the follovi ng were received,:
G. G. Teskey, $181342.90; State Construction Company, $22,774.15; 774.15; J. M. DeBlasio,
$10,462.65. The bid of J. M. DeBlasio was accepted as the lowest and best bid•and the
Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of
Yakima for doing said work: carried Burns, Carpenter and-Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that this being; the time for receiving bids for
constructing a sewer system on 16th and 17th A venues South, L.I.D. No. 686, the follow-
ing were received: G. G. Teskey, $6,014.00; State Construction Company $5,702.45 and
J. M. DeBlasio 5,077.50. The bid of J. M. DeBlasio was accepted as the lowest and
best bid, and the Mayor and City ;Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf
of the City of Yakima for doing said work: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey Voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids on
1,000 feet of 22" fire hose: It is ordered that said bids be tabulated and disposition
thereof be made at a later date: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll
call.
RESOLUTION NO. 'C -957, WHEREAS, by Resolution No. C -692, the City Commission of the
City of Yakima, pursuant to Ordinance No. B -207, as amended, designated one parking
space at 212 East Chestnut Street, City of Yakima, as a taxi stand for the City Cab
Company; and
WHEREAS, the City Cab Company has made application to change
said taxi stand from 212 East Chestnut Street, to 7 South Front Street, and said change
is agreeable to the City Commission;
NOW, THER111FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the space heretofore set
aside at 212 East Chestnut Street as a taxi stand, be vacated as such and restored to
a standard meter zone; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that
South Front Street be, and it is hereby designated
the City Cab Company.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that

BE I'T FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriate sign or signs be in-
stalled at the space hreinabove set aside as a taxi stand; and that the said space be
used exclusively for the taxis of the City Cab Company.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the allocation of space hereby made
shall constitute a license only; which license may be revoked at any time by the City
Commission, with or without cause.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COTAMISSION, this 26th day of
February, 1951.

Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C-957, relative to parking space
from 212 East;Chestnut to 7 South Front Street, be adopted as read: carried Burns,
Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 708, and there being no objections in writing or other-
wise to said assessment roll or any part thereof: It is ordered that Ordinance No.
B -1223, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read:
carried Burns, Carpenter and huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1223, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement
District No. 708 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1179 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
'Moved by Huey, seconded by Carpenter, that Ordinance No. B -1224, fixing the time of
delinquency and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 697 be passed as read:
carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1224, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments
levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District
No. 697, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment
of the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Carpenter, seconded by Huey, that we do now adjourn:
