The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and !Commissioners Carpenter
and Huey present on roll call.
The-minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, January 15, 1951, were approved as read.
moved 'by Huey, seconded-by Burns, that the City Engineer, having reported the complet-
ion of the North 4th Street Irrigation System, L.I.D. No. 689, by the contractor, said
work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an-assessment-roll
for said district and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll,
for Tuesday, February 13, 1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey; seconded by Carpenter, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice'to bidders by publication as provided by law, for 100,000 gallons, more or less
of MC- 2 -MIC -3 and RC 4 road oil, and 5,000 gallons, more or less, of bitumals seal coat:
said bids to be received on Tuesday, February 13, 1951, at 10 o'clock A.M.: carried
Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Carpenter, that James IN. Garretson be, and he is-hereby
appointed, a trustee of the Yakima Public Library Board to succeed Lorin Markham,
resigned; said appointment to take effect January, lst, 1951 and to expire January 1st.,
1956; carried Burns, Carpenter and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the
assessment roll in L.I.D. No 687, and there being insufficient protest against said
district, or any part thereof; It is ordered that - Ordinance No. B -1214, confirming
said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Burns, Huey
and,Carpenter voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE N0. B -1214, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District
No. 687 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1069 of the Ordinances of the ,City
of Yakima.
RESOLUTION NO. C-950, WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. B -1014, passed and approved by the
City` ,Commission on May 31, 1949, the Uniform Building Code, 1949 Edition, adopted by
the Pacific Coast Building Officials-' Conference, published January 1, 1949; together
with amendments to and changes thereof; was adopted as the Uniform Building Code of the
City-of Yakima; and
WH'GREAS, certain changes tosaid Uniform Building Code, 1949
Edition, were adopted and approved by the Pacific Coast Building Officials' Conference,
at the 28th annual business meeting of said conference in October, 1950;
NOW, THERE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "CITY COI:2MISSION OF THE CITY OF
YAKIMA: That the amendments to and changes of" the Uniform Building Code, 1949 Edition,
adopted and approved at the 28th annual meeting of the Pacific Coast Building Officials'
Conference in October, 1950; a copy of vilich amendments and changes are hereto attached
and by this reference made a part hereof; be and the same are hereby adopted as parts
of the Uniform Building Code of the City of Yakima; and the several sections as number-
ed therein shall constitute the numbers and may be referred to as the numbers of,said
Uniform Building Code of the City of Yakima.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 22nd day of January, 1951.
