ADJOURNED BUSINESS MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 14, 2000 - 8:30 A.M.

Beauchamp (present after 8:45 a.m.), Larry Mattson, John Puccinelli and Bernard

2. CONSIDERATION OF LEGISLATION PERTAINING TO AD VALOREM PROPERTY
TAX LEVY FOR COLLECTION IN 2001:
City Manager Zais commented that this is a follow -up to the public hearing held last
Tuesday. Due to the economy in Yakima, and with an awareness of the possible
impact of Initiative 722, the ad valorem tax is increased by only 2 %. Initiative 722
which limits the increase in property tax to 2% was passed at the last election, and will
be subjected to immediate
A. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CITY'S ANNUAL
REGULAR LEVY FROM THE AMOUNT LEVIED THE PREVIOUS YEAR
ORDINANCE NO. 2000 -50, AN ORDINANCE relating to the annual property tax
levy; authorizing an increase in the City's regular levy from the amount levied
the previous year.
B. AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND LEVYING THE AMOUNT OF AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR THE 2001 BUDGET
ORDINANCE NO. 2000 -51, AN ORDINANCE fixing and levying the amount of
ad valorem taxes necessary to balance estimated revenue with estimate
expenditures for the 20001 Budget for the City of Yakima.
