The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 22, 1948, be approved as read. In pursuance to public notice that a hearing would be had upon the proposed garbage ordinance, a large audience was in attendance at the meeting. A long discussion followed. Most of.those who expressed themselves objected to any garbage charge. Others objected only to the lien feature. The matter was laid over without action. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a cement sidewalk on South Eighth Street from E. Maple Street to E. Pine Street, the following bids were received: Gallagher & Brandt $654.00 and H. S. Elliott $600.00. Both bids being higher than the Engineers estimate, same, were rejecter by the City Commission: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -946, confirming the assessment roll, covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 636, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -817 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 636 and there being insufficient protest to said roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -946 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -947, confirming the assessment roll, covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 643, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -836 of -the Ordinances of the 'City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the. assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 643 and there being insufficient protest in writing or otherwise to said roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -947 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and !Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -948, confirming the asses -sment roll, covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 647, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -877 of the Ordinances of the {City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. 647 and there being insufficient objection in writing or otherwise to said roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -948 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and .Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -949, confirming the assessment roll, covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 652, as created and established by Ordinance No. B -902 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 652 and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -949 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and !Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -950, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied'f or the payment of the cost of the, improvements in Local Improvement District No. 640, and providing for the method of payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No., B -950 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE N0. B -951, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for -the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 642, and providing for the method of payment of the .unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -951 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, December 1, 1948, at 9 o1clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, VirEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1, .1948 The City !Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and Clark present on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of November,.1948, be allowed and that the City Clerk is authorized to issue warrants for the following departments: Various Depts. $6321.93; Engineering Dept. $3040.00; Irrigation $990.00; .Cemetery x;230.00; Street $404.50; F.R. & P. $2122.30; P.R. & P. $310.00; Library $ 2174.50; Water $8398.90; Police $12,105.00 and Fire Dept. $13,465.00: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
