The !City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present. on roll
_The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 18, 1948 and adjourned meeting
thereof were approved as read; carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants on the following funds: Current Expense.$9995.71;
Street $1803.39; Cu'm. Res - � (Muni Purp) $12 -, 953.70; Gas &� Oil X3328.27; Library $125.23;
Cemetery- - $85.69;= L.I.:D1 s $11,465.49; Irrigation $1827.92 and Water $5235.30: carried
Buck, Bishop and - _Clark voting aye on roll call. - -
Moved by „Buck, seconded by Clark that the continued hearing on Resolution No. C -797
providing for curbs-and gutters on W. North Street, and said property owners having
heretofore filed their petition ob ject-ing-- -t-hereto; It is ordered that said improve-
ment be abandoned: - carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the services of John S. Villesvik, architect for
an administration - -building at the Municipal Airport -be- accepted at the rate of 7 per
cent-of the cost of the work, less -35 per cent carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that pursuant to a contract heretofore entered into
on August 26, 1935, between the City of Yakima and C.F. Gettens and pursuant to an
order of the Superior 'Court of Yakima County entered October 21, 1948, the Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a deed on behalf of the 'City of Yakima to
Preston A. Mitchell: for Lots 14 and 15 in Block E of South Park Addition to the !City
of Yakima: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -934, fixing the time of de-
linquency and prescribing the form of bond, etc. in L.I.D. No. 632 be passed as read:
carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -934, 'fixing -the time of delinquency of installments of assessments
levied for the payment -of --the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No.
632, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of
the unpaid portion thereof.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -935, fixing the time of delin-
quency and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 634, be.passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -935, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments
levied for the payments of the cost of the improvement in Local,Improvement District
No. 634, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment
of the unpaid portion thereof.
RESOLUTION N0. C -802, BE IT, RESOLVED BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF-THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to'improve the west side of South
Eighth Street from East Maple Street to East Pine Street by constructing a portland
cement.concrete sidewalk six feet in width, according to plans and specifications to be
prepared by the 'City Engineer and filed with the City 'Clerk. The district to be served
and especially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvement is sit-
uate in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit:
Lots 1 to 8 inclusive of Block 155, The Home Addition.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting
of the +City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the ,City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 b1clock A.M., on Monday, the 15th day
of November , 1948, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matter;
relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method 'of payment for said improvement; and the City -Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improve ent, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, Advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and
as above described; and the -.City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the (City
Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
