The 'City Commission net in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, September 20, 1948, were approved as
read.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the
petition for annexation of the property bounded on the north by Lenox Avenue, on the
east by 16th Avenue South, = the South by Grant Avenue and on the west by 17th Avenue
South, said hearing is further extended to_a later date: carried Buck., Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for - receiving bids on a
Fire Pump for the.Municipal Airport, the bid of the Food Machinery Corp. in the sum
of $663.94 was' accepted as the lowest and best bid: carried Buck; Bishop and Clark
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City Engineer having filed the assessment
rolls in L.I.D. No's 630, 637, 6393, 640 and 6421 the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and instructed to give notice by publication as required by law for hearings on said
rolls for ,Monday, October 18, 1948, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clary
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the tin
construction of curbs and gutters on Pacific Avenue, the
Columbia Asphalt Co. $4,792.00; J.M. DeBlasio X54, 069.70;
DeBlasio oe awarded the contract in the sum of $1,819.25

RESOLUTION NO. C -798, WHEREAS Mrs. Fred C. Mobley on September 23, 1948, filed with
the City Clerk her duly verified claim for damages in the amount of $10.79, said
damages arising out of the flooding of her basement caused by negligence of the City
of Yakima or its agents and employees on August 26, 1948, and it being for the best
interests for the City of Yakima to allow, pay and settle said claim.
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT .RESOLVED BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY_ OF YAKIMA:
That the claim of Mrs. Fred C. Mobley for damages sustained by
her as a result of the negligent flooding of her basement at 1206 South Sixth Avenue
on August 26, 194:8, be settled by the payment to said claimant of the sum of $10.79
.and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant upon the
proper fund of the City of Yakima in said sum to the order of said claimant in. full
settlement of said claim.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY 'COMMISSION this 27th day of September, 1948.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop
and Clark present, on roll call.
_ORDINANCE NO. B -921, creating a cumulative reserve fund for the Yakima Public Library
Building Fund as authorized by Charter 60, Laws of 1941 of the State of Washington;
providing for the payment into said fund of all sums now or hereafter budgeted. and
appropriated therefor and for the expenditure thereof.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -921 providing for a Curr.1 ulative
Reserve Fund for Yakima City Library Building Fund be passed as read: carried. Buck
and Bishop voting:; aye on roll call. Clark voting no.
ORDINANCE N0. B -922,_ repealing Ordinance No. A -403 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating
to the organization, management and operation of the Fire Department of the City of
Yakima, Washington."
