The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 2, 1948, were approved as read. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids on the North 8th Street Sewer, the following were received: G.G. Teskey $10,049.20; DonAkins, Inc.- $9,943.45; Gallagher and Brandt $9,685.70; State Construction.Co. $9,372.50. The bid of the State Construction Co. was accepted as the lowest and best bid and said con- tract awarded to it: carried..Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. . Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids on resur- facing 11th Avenue, L.I.D. 652, and the bid of the (Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. in the sum of $6,611.00 being the only bid received, said contract was awarded to it: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Engineer be instructed to proceed with the work on the Pierce Avenue Storm Sewer: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -903, amending Ordinance No. B -769 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by the construction of.an irrigation system establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund." Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -903 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the postponed hearing on Resolution No. C -792, resulted in insufficient protest for the paving of the alley on East "A" Street between North 8th St. and North 9th St. and the ordinance creating a local improvement district was ordered passed: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -904, providing for the improvement of the alleys extending from East Yakima Avenue to East "A" Street, between North Eighth. Street and North Ninth Street, by paving the same with asphaltic concrete; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -904 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
