The minutes of the regular meeting of .Monday July, 26, 1948 and adjourre d meeting there- of were approved as read. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk instructed to issue warrants as follows: (Cemetery. $1036.40; Garage $121.00; Sanitation $2502.30;- Street $3794.05; and Water $2984.24: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids on the Alley Paving, L.I.D. No. 647, the bid of the :Columbia Asphalt Co. in the sum of $6044.34 being the only bid received, contract was awarded to them and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City for doing said work: carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, - seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids on the Tetrohedron for the Municipal Airport. The bid of King Bros. in the sum of $558.26 was accepted as the lowest and best bid; carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by (Clark, seconded by Buck that the ordinance relating to the licensing of dogs, which was heretofore introduced for passage, be laid on the table indefinitely: carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Resolution No. C -794 providing for the changing of the name of Yakima County Airport to Yakima Municipal Airport be adopted as read: carried Buck, 'Bishop and -Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -794, WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has acquired the title to the property known as the Yakima County Airport, and it is desirable that the name be changed so that no confusion may arise; NOW,THBREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION of the City of Yakima, Washington, that the airport, the title to which has heretofore been in Yakima County and recently transferred to the City of Yakima, which airport will be hereafter operated by the City, shall be hereinafter known as the Yakima Municipal Air- port, and the said name is hereby adopted by the City of Yakima for such purposes, and that the (Civil Aeronautics Administration be advised of this change. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the resurfacing of South Grandview Avenue, L.I.D. No. 643, said work is hereby ac= cepted: carried Buck; Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call'. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the report of the Investment Committee for investments purchased during the month of July is hereby approved: carried Buck, Bishop and :Clark voting aye on roll call.
