JUNE 15, 1959
SPECIAL MEETING, MONDAY, JUNE 15, 1959, 4:00 P.M.
Due notice having been given each member of the City Council by the Clerk of the Council
calling for a special meeting at the hour of 4:00 p.m. on Monday the 15th day of June
1959, to further consider the matter of rezoning of specific property located on 31st
Avenue and Tieton Drive, Mayor Bostic, Assistant Mayor Robinson.,-Jr., Councilmen Barber,
Burns, Coombs, Larson and Oliver and City Manager Allison and City Attorney Arntson
present on roll.call. Councilman Oliver,asked to be excused from this meeting and he
was excused from this hearing.
This being the time for further considering ,the matter of rezoning specific property
located on the northeast and northwest corner of 31st Avenue and Tieton Drive and Mr.
Carl Loy, attorney representing Dr. Marion Herr and his interests and Mr. Fred Palmer,
attorney for the property owners opposing said zoning, being present, the City Council
allowed each attorney and Dr.,Herr, 45 minutes in which to state their case, for and
against the rezoning of said property; All other interested parties were heard.
Dr. Herr presented the plans for his osteopathic clinic and contended that his interests
were compatible with the area. The opposition contended that the construction of an
Osteopathic Clinic will devaluate the surrounding residential property -and open the area
for other types of business which are allowable in a B -1 modified business area. After
all persons were heard by the Council,;.'it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Coombs that
this matter be brought forth at the regular meeting of the City Council at the hour of
4:00 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday the 24th day of June, 1959.
This being the only business to be considered at this, a special meeting of the City
Council, said meeting was declared adjourned.
