Due notice having been given by the Clerk of the Council to each member of the Council calling for a special meeting at the hour of 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 1959 to consider the following:' 1. An ordinance providing for the organization of the Administrative Departments of the City of Yakima; 2. To meet with the Planning Commission on the matter of rezoning specific property located on 31st Avenue and Tieton Drive; 3 An ordinance establishing wages and hours of employees of the Ciyy of Yakima; Mayor Bostic, Assistant Mayor Robinson,Jr., Councilmen Barber, Coombs and Larson, City. Manager Allison, City Attorney Ar-ntson were present on roll call. Councilmen Burns & Oli absent Invocation was given by Mrs. C'Ceal Coombs. An ordinance providing for the organization of the Admin-btrative Departments of the City of Yakima, providing forthe appointment'of directors of said departments and defining the functions, duties and responsibilities of said directors and departments, having been read by the City Attorney, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Barber that Ordinance No. 7, providing for said organization, be passed as read: carried, Bostic, Robinson, Barber, Coombs and Larson voting aye on roll call. Burns and Oliver absent. ORDINANCE NO. 7, AN ORDINANCE providing for the Departments of the City of Yakima, providing for said Departments, defining the functions, °duties pealing Ordinances,No. B -194 as amended by B -150, and B -2261 and all other ordinances and parts of declaring an emergency. organization of the Administrative the appointment of the Directors of and responsibilities thereof and re- 20 B -195, A -2511 B -228, B -22341 B -2235, ordinances in conflict herewith and � This being the time for the meeting with the Planning Commission. on the matter of re- zoning of specific property located on the northeast and northwest corners of 31st Avenue and Tieton Drive and 7 of the 9 voting members of the Planning Commission being present and Mr. Kenneth Hawkinp, Attorney representing the Valley Osteopathic Hospital and Mr. Fred Palmer, Attorney representing the petitioners opposing the rezoning of said property, also being present, and all persons having been heard on this matter, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Coombs that the City Council meet in special session at the hour of 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 15th day of June, 1959 for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the original recommendation of the Planning Commission in this matter: carried Bostic, Robinson, Barber, Coombs and Larson voting aye by voice vote. Burns and Oliver absent. A law having been passed by the State Legislature at its lastsession.making it manditory to pay overtime to employees working,more than 40 hours per week and this law being in full force and effect on the 11th day of June, 1959, it was MOVED by Coombs, seconded by Larson that the City Council meet in special session at the hour of 2 o'clock p.m., on Monday, the 8th day of June, 1959, to pass legislation on this matter: carried, Bostic, Robinson., Barber,.Coombs and Larson voting aye by voice vote.
