NOVEMBER 5, 1958
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Alderson and Commissioner Mathews
and City Attorney Arntson present on roll call. ,Commissioner Schutt absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting.of October 29, 1958 were approved as read.
This being the time for receiving bids for the purchase of radio equipment for police
cars and the bid of Motorola Communications in the amount of $3,935.00, being the only
bid received, it was MOVED by Alderson seconded by Mathews that said bid be referred to
the Chief of Police and Purchasing Agent for recommendation: carried, Alderson and
Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
The following bids having been received and read, in compliance with a call for bids
for the purchase of three or more new 1959 cars for the Police Department:

Chief and Purchasing Agent for tabulation and recommendation: carried, Alderson and
Mathews voting aye on roll call.
A petition having been duly filed by C. W. Keltner and others praying for the annexation
of a 7.57 acre tract west of what would be 44th Avenue extended between west Chestnut
Street and West Walnut Street, it was MOVED by Alderson, seconded by Mathews taht said
petition be accepted and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to &ive notice by
publication and posting on said property, of hearing to be held at the hour of 10 o1cloc
a.m. on Wednesday the 26th day of November, 1958: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting
aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
Moved by Alderson, seconded by Mathews that Resolution No. C -1628 authorizing the
purchasing department to purchase uniforms for the Police Departmene without calling
for bids, be passed as read: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
Schutt absent.
RESOLUTION NO. C- 1628,- A RESOLUTION authorizing the Purchasing Department to purchase
uniforms for the Police Department without calling for bids.
I WHEREAS, uniforms are immediately required by the Police Depart-
ment for proper maintenance, and
WHEREAS, an emergency is hereby declared to exist requiring
immediate need for said uniforms at request of Police Department, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Thatthe Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is,
authorized, without calling forbids, to purchase required uniforms for the City of
Yakima Police Department.
Section 2. 'That an emergency exists by reason;_ of the fact that
said uniforms are necessary for the proper maintenance of said Police Department.

Subject: Revolving Fund (Petty Cash)

1. The City Engineer is hereby authorized to maintain a Revolving Fund (petty Cash)
in the sum of ten and 00100 dollars ($10.00).
2. As required the City Clerk will reimburse the City Engineer in sufficient
amount by warrant to bring the Revolving Fund -to the amount of ten and.00/100
dollars ($10.00).

added to the now existing Revolving Fund (Petty Cash) of $25.00, giving him a total of
$50.00 in said fund, it was MOVED by Alderson, seconded by Mathews that the City Clerk
be and is hereby authorized to extablish and maintain a Revolving Fund (petty cash) in
the amount of $10.00 for the City Engineer and that the additional $25.00 for the
City Clerk's fund be allowed: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call.

to call for bids fo.r the . purchase of Water Meters fort he Water Department for the
Par of 1959 in accordance with the request submitted by the Purchasing Department:

The City Purchasing Agent asking for the authority to advertise for the purchase of
one three wheeled motorcycle for the Police Department, it was MOVED by Alderson,
seconded by M athW811that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to call for bids for
said purchase, said bids to be received up to the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on the 19th
day of November,,.195$: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt
absent.

The City Commission.met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson and Commissioner Mathews
present on roll call. City Attorney and Commissioner Schutt absent.
Bids having been received at the regular meeting on this date for the purchase of radio
equipment for police cars and the Purchasing Agent now recommending they bid of Motorola
Cbmmunicatio ns in the amount of $3,935.00, the only bid received, as the best bid, it
Was MOVED by Alderson, seconded by Mathews that said bid be awarded: carried, Alderson
and Mathews voting.aye.on roll call. Schutt absent.
Bids having been received at the regular meeting on this date for the purchase of one
pickup truck for the Street Department and the Purchasing Agent now recommending the,bid
of Burrows Motor Company in the amount of $1930.24 as the best bid, it was MOVED by
Alderson, seconded by Mathews that said bid be awarded at the next regular meeting of
the City Commission on November 122 1958: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting a.ye on
roll call. Schutt absent.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that we do now adjourn to meet again in regular
session at the hour of 10 6tclock a.m. on Wednesday the 12th day of November, 1958:.
