OCTOBER 1,1958
The City Commission met in regular session, Commissioners Schutt and Mathews and City
Attorney Arntson, present on roll call. Mayor Alderson absent.
Due to the urgency of other business and the absence of the Mayor, it was MOVED by
Mathews, seconded by Schutt that we do now adjourn and meet in regular session at the
hour of 10 o1clock on Thursday, October 2, 1958: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting
aye on roll call. Alderson absent.
ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY,-OCTOBER 2, 1958s 10:00 A.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson, Commissioner Mathews
and City Attorney Arntson present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of September 24, 1958 were approved as read.
A petition praying for the annexation of certain property beginning at a point which is
the intersection of the center line of Fruitvale Blvd., and North 16th Avenue, thence
west-along the center line of Fruitvale Blvd. to the west -line of 18th Avenue North,.
thence south along said west line of 18th Avenue to a point 25 feet south of the north
line of Willow Street, thence east to the center line of North 16th Avenue., thence
north along said center line of 16th Avenue North to the point icing, having been
filed by F. E. Wills et al and the City Engineer reporting that��j of the assessed
valuation have signed said petition, the statutory requirement being 75% of the assessed
value, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the City .Clerk be and is here-
by authorized to give notice of hearing by publication-and posting as required by law
for Wednesday the 29th day of October, 1958 at the hour of 10 o'clock'a.m: carried,
Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call.. Schutt absent.
A resolution transferring $54.62 from the Current Expense,Fund,L.I.D. Advances to Local
Improvement District No. 861, was read by the City Clerk and ordered referred back to
the City Attorney for rewording in part.
The Street Engineer recommending that we sell a number of surplus junk vehicles owned
by the public works departments of the City, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by
Alderson that the City Clerk be and .is• hereby authorized to call for bids for the sale
of City owned property, namely (1) 1942 Ford Pickup, (1) 1936 Ford Pickup and (1) 1949
Ford Sedan, owned by the Street, Department, Garage and Water Departments respectively,
said bids to be received up to the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday the 22nd -day of
October, 1958: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
The City Engineer reporting a monthly estimate for work performed on L.I.D.-No. 862 for
payment, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the City Clerk be and is
hereby authorized to pay Final,estimat #4 to C & E Construction Company in the amount
of $6,172.86: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll. Schutt absent.

it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that said report be accepted as read:

The City Engineer reporting that the Nob Hill Storm Drain project is nearing completion
and that the existing storm sewer below 12th Avenue and Meade is not large enough to car(
for storm flows and stating that money for such a project has been requested in the 1959
Budget and requesting that the City Clerk be authorized to call for bids for the con-
struction of said storm sewer,because weather and ground water condidtions are ideal at
this time, and pay for said project in 1959, it was ordered that this matter be set a-
side-until a latter date.
In accordance with a request submitted to the Purchasing agent, it was MOVED by Mathews,
seconded by Alderson that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to call for bids
for the purchase of 1000 feet of 221' Fire Hose and 400 feet of 12" Fire Hose for the
Fire Department, said bids to be received up to the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday
the 22nd day of October, 1958: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call.,
