The City Commission met in regular session, Commissioners Schutt and I'lathews and City
Attorney Arntson-,present on roll,call. Mayor Alderson absent.
The minutes, of the regular meeting of August 6, 1958 and adjourned meeting th (reof
were approved as read.
This .being the time for receiving and considering bids for the purchase of paint for
the Sewage Disposal Plant and the following bids having been received,

Pittsburg Paint 1398.24

General Paint 1259.77

it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that said bids be referred to the Street
Engineer and Purchasing Agent for recommendation; carried, Schutt and Mathews voting
aye on roll call. Alderson absent.
The State of Washington, Department of Highways deeming it necessary and advisable to
acquire title to a strip of land six feet wide for.the improvement of Primary State
Highway No. 5 and submitting a resolution together with the necessary Quit Claim deed
for said strip of land, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that said deed
and resolution -be referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer for checking and
recommendation: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on `roll call. Alderson absent.
The City Engineer reporting _the completion of L.I.D. No. 862, bei rg the South 4th
Avenue Curb; Gutter and Suf;facing District, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt
that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare the assessment roll for said district,
and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to give notice of hearing on said
assessment roll.for the hour of 10 o1clock a.m. on Wednesday the 3rd day of September,
1958: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent.
Moved by Schutt., seconded by Mathews that_ we do now ad jour n to meet again in regular
session at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on.Wednesday the 20th day of August, 1958,
carried; Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent.
