Commissioner Schutt absent. No City Attorney present. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 11, 1958 were approved as read: This being the time for the hearing on a petition filed by Frank Stubbs praying for the vacation of the alley running west from South 28th Avenue to South 29th Avenue and there being no protests in writing or otherwise to said vacation, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Ordinance No. B -2179 vacating said alley and reserv- ing unto the City an easement for a sanitary sewer and storm sewer now running along said alley, be passed as read: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent. ORDINANCE NO. B -2179, AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of that certain alley between Lots 16 and 40, Shannon Home Plats, running from South 28th Avenue,to South 29th Avenue, reserving unto the City an easement to the City of Yakima for a sanitary sewer, and an 8 inch storm sewer now running along said alley, TOGETHER WITH the right of ingress and egress for the repair and replacement of s -aid sewers; SUBJECT TO a pro- vision that no buildings be erected over said sewer lines, said property being situated in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington. This being the time for hearing on the assessment roll for L.I.D. No. 861, being the South 24th Avenue Irrigation District, and Charles Davis claiming exemption from payment fora . strip of land 901 by 1501, on which is located a spur track to the Dregbn-.Wash. Ordinance No. B -2170 having been passed and approved on the 28th day of May, 1958 re- zoning certain property recently annexed, said property.located on and in the vicinity of North 1st Street to N Street and said ordinance now found to be in error in the matter of property description, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Ordinance No. B -2181 repealing said Ordinance No. B -2170, be passed as read: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on.roll call, Schutt absent. ORDINANCE NO. B- 21812 AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. B -2170 approved on May 28, 1.958 entitled "AN ORDINANCE zoning certain property situate in the City of Yakima, Couxit.y. of Yakima, Washington. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Ordinance No. B -2182 having the corrected description of property to be rezoned, said property located in the vicinity of'North First Street to "'tl''Street and'recently annexed by Ordinance No. B -2169, be passed as read: carried, Alderson- .and'..Nlathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent. ORDINANCE NO. B -2182, AN ORDINANCE zoning certain property situate in the City of Yakima, Counter of Yakima, Washington.. Bids having been received June 11, 1958 to lease city owned property located at the sewage treatment plant and the bid of Sanford and King being the only bid received, it was MOVED by Mathews; seconded by Alderson that said bid be awarded and the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized t.o execute_a lease with L. H. Sanford and Ed King leasing city property fully described in said lease on the basis of $25.00 per month payable monthly in advance, carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. A damage claim'h.aving been filed by LetheYeigh for damages suffered due to a fall-on the sidewalk in front of 305 South 4th_Street and the City Clerk having read a resoluti authorizing' payment of said claim, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that said claim be taken under advisement: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. WHEREAS the Sanitation Department is in need ofatwo (2) drum cable 'uiniit for mounting on its tractor immediately, and WHEREAS Webb Tractor & Equipment Company, Yakima, Washington has now and is the only firm having this type of used equipment at this time, and WHEREAS an emergency exists, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF.THE CITY OF YAKIMA, That the Sanitation Department be and is hereby authorized to purchase two used drum cable units for mounting on its tractor, total cost not to ex- ceed $1500.00. FE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an emergency exists .because of the 361 7 0 3w June 11. 1958 immediate necessity for the use of said drum cable unit, -and the Sanitation Department is authorized to make the foregoing purchase without calling for bids because of such e emergency.
