The City Commission not being available on this date, the regular meeting was postponed
until Thursday, April 10, 1958 at*_:the-hour of 10 o'clock a.m. and due notice was given
the radio and press.
POSTPONED MEETING, APRIL 10, 1958, 10 O'CLOCK A.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to postponment, Mayor Alderson, and Commissioner
Mathews present on roll call. Commissioner Schutt and the City Attorney absent.

Bids having been received up to the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 1958
and having been set aside due to the postponment of the regular meeting and the City
Commission now being in session the following bids were received for the purchase of a
112 ton pickup truck and a -1 -1/2 ton truck for the Water Department:

Bids having been received April 2, 1958 for the printing of Ordinance No. B -2136 and
B -2137 in code form to be known as the Plumbing Code and the bid of P S Printers in the
amount of $331.58 for 150 books, sheets and covers gathered but not bound, being the
only bid received, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that said bid be
awarded: carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
Bids having been received April 2, 1958 for the construction of a storm sewer drain in
the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue and 29th Avenue North and the City Engineer recommending
the bid of DeBlasio Bros, in the amount of $6,578.84 as the lowest and best bid, it
was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that this bid be awarded: carried, Alderson
and Mathews voting aye on roll cal. Schutt absent.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Resolution No. C -1573 being a resolution
of intention to improve certain property fully described in said resolution, generally
located in Lincoln Heights Addition, by constructing a domestic water system and fixing
the time earing- at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 30th day of
April, X95 e p i�i�fe`d, sAf8 &Pson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
RESOLUTION NO. C -1573, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That it is its intention to improve the following described
property by constructing the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other
appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use and fire protection:
Beginning at the northeast corne of the intersection of
N -32nd Avenue and Lincoln Avenue; thence northerly along the
east line of North 32nd Avenue a distance of Y40-81 feet thence

easterly 632.8 feet to the east line of the W, NW, NW4 of
Sectio n23, Township 13 N., Range 18, E.W.M., thence South
along said east line to Lincoln Avenue; thence west along the
north line of Lincoln Avenue to the point of beginning.
The proposed -Local Improvement District is to embrace all
property adjacent to the above mentioned improvements which are subject to assessment.
All persons who may desire to be heard with reference to said
proposed improvements are hereby notified to appear and present objections, if any, at
a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the
City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 ot►clock a.m. on
Wednesday, the 30th day of April, 1958, which time and place are hereby fixed for the
hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvements or objections thereto,
and for determining the method of payment for said improvements, and the City Clerk is
hereby directed to give notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the afore-
said improvement.
The assessment shall be made according to special benefits
derived from the improvements without regard to the zone and termini method.
All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of
said improvement, including the enginedring, inspection, right-of-way, advertising,
publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be levied and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as
provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing,
all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted; all of
said improvements to be submitted; all of said improvements to be constructed in full
accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and
filed with the City Clerk.

Moved by Mathews, seconded by,Alderson that the bill presented by the Union Pacific
Railroad in the amount of $27,7010, said amount covering services incurred by the

railway company in connection with the City's contract with Mat Malispina during the
construction of the South Interceptor Sewer, be paid and the City Attorney be and is
hereby instructed to make every effort to collect this sum from said contractor:
carried, Alderson and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt absent.
All other business was laid on the table for one week, to be considered at the next
regular meeting of the City Commission at the hour of 10 o1clock a.m. on Wednesday the
16th day of April, 1.958.
Moved by Alderson, seconded by Mathews that we do now adjourn to meet again at the hour
of 10 o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, the 15th day of'April, 1958 for a hearing on the appeals
from decisions of the Planning Commission in the matter of rezoning of property: carried
Alderson and Mathews, voting aye on roll call. Schutt .absent.
ADJOURNED MEETING, APRIL 15, 1958, TUESDAY, 10:00 A.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson, Commissioners, Schutt
and Mathews and City Attorney Kenneth Hawkins present on roll call.
This being the time for the hearing on the Appeals from Decisions of the Planning
Commission in the matter of rezoning of property at the Southeast corner of 16th Avenue
and Summitview,•being the appeal of John W. and Rita B. Maloney; the Northwest Corner of
31st Avenue and�,Tieton Drive, being the appeal of Dr. M. E. Herr; and 601, 6022 603 and
604 South 13th Avenue being the appeal of W. W. Nettleship; and all persons interested
having been heard, it was MOVED by Schutt, seconded by Alderson that these appeals be
given further consideration and referred back to the Planning Commission: carried,
Alderson, Schutt and. Mathews voting aye on roll call;
Moved by Schutt, seconded by Alderson that we do now
session at the-hour of 10 o1clock a.m. on Wednesday
