The minutes of the regular meeting of October 30th were approved as read. Moved. by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Resolution No. C -1537 providing for the transfer of $535.00 in the "Maintenance and Operation" classification of the Engineering Department's 1957 Budget, be passed as read: carried, Alderson.and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Commissioner Schutt not voting. RESOLUTION NO. C -1537, A RESOLUTION providing for the transfer of funds within the 1957 appropriation of the Engineering Department. WHEREAS, a surplus of funds exists in the Industrial Insurance item of the Engineering Department appropriation in the 1957 Budget, and WHEREAS, a shortage exists in the Office Supplies and Auto Maintenance items in said Engineering Department appropriation, and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it in the best interests of the City to make the transfers provided for herein and 35.33.120, WHEREAS, the action contemplated herein is authorized by R.C.W. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.THE.CITY OF YAKIMA: Section.l. That $535.00 be and the same is hereby transferred from -the Industrial Insurance item of the Engineering Department appropriation in the 1957 Budget to the Office Supplies and Auto Maintenance items in the respective amounts of $4.00.00 and e$135.00, all of said items being within the "Maintenance and Operation rr classification in said appropriation and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized to make the aforementioned transfers as provided for herein. Alderson City Clerk Mayor Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that Resolution No. C -1538 cancelling water revenue bonds 696 and 705 and coupons 33 to 42 inclusive; and transferring the sum of $2500.00 from the Water Revenue Bond Redemption Fund to the Water Sewer Fund., be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -153$1 A RESOLUTION cancelling water revenue bonds 696 and 705 and coupons 33 to 42 inclusive; and transferring the sum of $2500.00 from the Water Revenue Bond Redemption Fund to the Water Sewer Fund. WHEREAS, water revenue bonds No. 696 and 705 were issued by the City of Yakima on June 1, 1926, said bonds maturing June 1, 1947, and being in the principal amount of $2,000.00, together with coupons No. 33 to 42 inclusive in the total amount of $500.00; and WHEREAS, said bonds and coupons have never been presented for payment; and WHEREAS, the statute of limitations has run with reference to the payment of said bonds and coupons; and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City to cancel -said bonds and coupons, and transfer -the appropriate.amounts to the water sewer fund; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That Water Revenue bonds No. 696 and 705 issued June 1, 1926, and matured June 1, 1947, in the amount of $2,000.00, and the coupons numbered 33 to 42 inclusive on each bond totalling $500.00, be and the same are hereby cancelled. Section 2. That the City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empow- ered and directed to transfer the sum of x;2500.00 representing the principal and interest on said bonds, from the Water Revenue Bond Redemption Fund to the Water Sewer Fund. of November, 1957• ATTEST: J. RESOLUTION NO. C -15391 A RESOLUTION appointing the City Engineer acting Building Inspector. WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Building Inspector by reason of the resignation of Vernon B. Armstrong; and WHEREAS, the commission deems it in the best interests of the City to appoint an acting Building Inspector to serve in that capacity until a permanent appointment to said office can be made, NOW, THEREFORE, 11 1 `?851 NOVEMBER 6, 1957 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby appointed acting Building Inspector to serve in that capacity until a permanent successor is chosen. Section 2. That the City Engineer while serving as acting Building'. Inspector shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Building Inspector, and shall serve in that capacity without any additional compensation. The City Engineer reporting the completion of the 36th. Avenue South Irrigation District, being L.I.D. 852, by the contractor, it was moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the City Engineer be and is hereby instructed to prepare the assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to give notice of hearing on said roll by publication and notice to each property owner as required by law, said hearing to be held on Wednesday the 27th day of November, 1957, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M.: carried, Alderson;; Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. X286 NOVEMBER 6, 1957 Bids having been received October 23, 1957, for the construction of an Industrial Waste System, said bids having been referred to the City Engineer for tabulation and recommend ation and he now recommending the bids of Walters Construction.Company in amount of $225,081.97 under Schedule 1 and Central Heating and Plumbing in amount of $114,620.37 under Schedule 2 and the Washington Pollution Control Commission approving said recommen ation, it was moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the-bid of Walters Constructio Company and Central Heating and Plumbing Company be awarded, subject to the provision that the work - cannot be started on the pump house or sprinkler system until the order for public necessit,t is obtained for the condemnation of the land required for the facility or until other satisfactory arrangements are made: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -2094 amending the traffic code No. B -1526 changing the speed limits on certain streets and providing for specific changes and locations of parking meters, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -2094, AN ORDINANCE relating to-and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and other incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties; and amending Ordinance No. B -1526, and other ordinances in conflict herewith.
