Mayor Alderson absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of September 25, 1957 were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of an irrigation system'in the Revised Swan Tract and 29th Avenue area known as L.I.D. No. 857, the following bids were received: Hallgren Company 1252 1st Ave South Seattle, Washington H. D. Fowler Co. P.O. Box 3084 Seattle 14, Washington De Coto Bros. 713 South lst St., Yakima, Washington' Fosse:en's Inc. P.O.Box 201; Yakima, Washington Yakima Hardware Co., P. 0. Box 1021, Yakima, Wash. Inland Pipe & Supply, P.O. Lbx 587, Yakima, Wash. Tacoma Plumbing & Supply I $561.31 4,463.70 2,079.54 4,628.25 261.02 389.01 299.14 each bid covering specific items of the engineers specifications, MOVED by Mathews., seconded by Schutt that these bids be referred to the City Engineer for tabulation and recommendation: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent. This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1512, being a resolution of in- tention to construct; a domestic water system in the Revised Swan Tract and 29th Avenue district and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -2082 providing for said :;_ mprovement and creating L.I.D. No. 858, be passed as read: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent. ORDINANCE NO. B -2082, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the C City of Yakima by the construction of the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use and fire pro- tection, establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund; The City Engineer having reported the completion of the Del Mar Terrace Paving District by'the contractor, being L.I.D. No. 848, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that saidC,�rork be accepted and the City Engineer be authorized to prepare the assessment roll for said.district and the.City Clerk be and is hereby instructed to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll by publication and notice to each property owner as required by law, said hearing to be held on Wednesday, the 23rd day of October, 1957 at the hour of 10.o1clock a.m.: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C -1528 providing for the placing of Tacoma Cemetery on interest bearing warrant basis, be passed as read :. carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent. RESOLUTION NO. C -1528, A RESOLUTION providing for the registration of warrants drawn on the Cemetery Fund of the City of Yakima, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, the Cemetez -y Fund of the City of Yakima is now overdrawn and there are not now available any other funds of the City of Yakima to loan to the Cemetery Fuhd for the payment of warrants drawn on said fund for necessary Cemetery expenses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. This resolution is necessary for the immediate pre- servation of the public peace, health, welfare and safety, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist. Section 2. That warrants issued by the City of Yakima drawn on the Cemetery Fund of the City, be, on an after October 2, 1957, registered warrants and be marked "Not Paid for Want of Funds" at the time of such endorsement over the signature of the City Treasurer, and that the issuance of such registered warrants continuek, until such registered warrants already issued shall have been redeemed and there be on hand in said Cemetery Fund sufficient money to pay warrants drawn on said fund as issued„ Section 3. That said warrants shall draw interest at not to exceed 4 % per annu3m, and that said interest rate appear on the face of said warrants. Section 4. That said warrants shall be redeemed and paid accord- ing to their number, date and issue. , Section 5. That the City Treasurer` is hereby directed to call said warrants in the manner provided by law. of October, 1957. ATTEST: J. A. C -1529, A RESOLUTION authorizing the acceptance of a grant offer by the Mayor and City Clerk.from the United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare in the sum of 68,5.80.00 for the purpose of making certain additions to the present sewage facilities of the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the C-Ity of Yakima is desirous of providing for certain additions to its present sewage facilities; and WHEREAS, the City is in receipt of a Grant Offer from the United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare in the amount of $68,580.00, being pursuant to-the provisions of 33 USC 466; and WHEREAS, it is deemed: to be in the best interests of the City of Yakima to accept said Grant Offer; Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized on behalf of the City of Yakima to accept the Grant Offer from the United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare in the sum of $68,580.00 providing for certain additions to the City's sewage facilities, all as more specificall3 provided for in Project No. WPC- Wn -.7, a copy of said Grant Offer being attached hereto as Exhibit A, and by this reference incorporated herein as .though fully set forth.
