AUGUST .28, 1957
The City Commission met in regular session, Commissioners Schutt and Mathews and Assis-
tant Attorney Loy present on roll'call. Mayor Alderson absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 21, 1957 were approved as read:
This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1498 providing for the vacation
of,a portion of 39th Avenue South and there being no objections in writing or otherwise
: to said vacation, or any part thereof, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that
Ordinance No. B -2071 vacating said property and every part thereof be passed as :read:'
carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Alderson absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -2071, AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of the West half of the
North 139.44 feet of 39th Avenue South, adjacent to Lot 16 of Walnut Grove Addition, as
shown on the plat of said Addition.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C -1509, fixing the time of
hearing for the vacation of a portion of tA]ashington Avenue at the hour of 10:00 o'clock
a.m. on Wednesday the 25th day of September, 1957, be passed as read: carried,

A RESOLUTION fixing the time of hearing re: vacation of street.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns all the real estate abutting:
upon the street hereinafter mentioned and said City desires to vacate said street de..
scribed as follows, to -wit:
NOW, THEREFORE,
Beginning at a point 20' East of the Southwest corner of the
Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34,
Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M., said point being the point
of intersection of the center line of Washington Avenue with
the Easterly line of Sorenson Road extended northerly; thence
Easterly along said center line of Washington'Avenue 2613.0' to
a point which is 1313.5' Easterly from the West Quarter corner
of Section 35, Township -13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., in Yakima
County, Washington.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COY - MISSION OF THE CITY OF YAK:IMA:
That the matter of the vacation of said street shall be brought
on for hearing and determination on Wednesday, the 25th day of September, 1957,.at the
hour of 10:00o'clock a.m. in the forenoon on said day at the office of the City
Commission of the City of Yakima, at the City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington,
or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard and that notice of said hearing be given
as provided by law.

ORDINANCE NO. B -2073, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of,

advertise for bids for a new 112 ton, 6 cylinder pickup truck for the Street Department

Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the clerk be and is hereby authorized to call
for bids for the sale of 10,000 potatoe bags now owned by the Street Department, said
bids to be received and considered at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, the
11th day of September, 1957: carried, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.

Bids having been received for the.sale of city owned used equipment on Wednesday, the
21st day of August, 1957, and on the.City Engineers recommendations the following; bids

ADJOURNED MEETING, AUGUST R9, 1957, 10:00. A.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Alderson, Commissioners Schutt
and Mathews present on roll call.
Commissioner Schutt asked to make a statement and that same become a part of the
minutes.
"There have been a good many hours spent in the compiling of
the budget to present to-the commission as a whole. The sheets
were turned over to the secretaries this morning to be typed.
Mr. Mathews took it upon himself to take several budget detail
sheets from.the Clerk1s.office. The budget was compiled after
conference with'the department heads when I understood it was
satisfactory to them. "I'seriously object to his taking my
copies. I request Mr. Mathews to return the copies he took
from the girl to whom I gave them."

and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to annexation pro-
ceedings or
any part thereof, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that
Ordinance
No. B -2074 providing for the.annexation of certain property on South 39th
Avenue. and
West Chestnut, said property.fully described in said ordinance, be'passed
as read:
carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -2074, AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of
- Yakima, Washington, of certain property'cortiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -2075 providing for the
adoption of the comprehensive plan for the City'of Yakima as prepared and recommended
by the Planning Commission, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews
voting aye. on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -2075, AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING as the comprehensive plan of the City of
Yakima, and environs, prepared, adopted and recommended by the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima by Planning Commission Resolution No. 1; and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that we do now adjourn to meet again in regular
