The minutes of the regular meeting of August 7, 1957 were approved as read. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Alderson that the.petition of Edward D. Craig and others for the annexation of property described as follows: beginning at the center line of the intersection of West Chestnut Street and South 39th Avenue; thence East along the center line of West Chestnut Street 330 feet to the East boundary line extended of Chestnut Park;, thence North along said line 148 feet, more or less, to the South bound- ary line of Chestnut Park; thence West along said line to the center line of South 39th Avenue; thence South along the center line of South 39th Avenue to the point of begin -. ning; be and is hereby accepted and the City Clerk be-instructed to give notice of hearing on said petition by publication as required by law and by posting a notice in three public places on the property sought to-be annexed, said hearing to be on Wednes- day, the 28th day of August, 1957. at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. Moved by Schutt, seconded by Mathews that Resolution No. C -1504 abolising the Parking Meter Fund and transferring $863.90 therein to the Current Expense Fund, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1504, A RESOLUTION abolishing the Parking Meter Fund and transferring the balance therein to the Current Expense Fund. WHEREAS, the Parkirg Meter Fund was heretofore established to provide for the receipt of parking meter revenues and payment for parking meters; and WHEREAS, said fund is no longer,necessary since all amounts due on parking meter contracts have been paid or provided for; and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City to transfer the balance in said Parking Meter Fund to the Current Expense Fund, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1.' That the Parking Meter Fund be and the same is hereby abolished, and that the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to transfer the balance remaining in said Fund, to -wit, the sum of $863.90 to the Current Expennse Fund. Section 2. That the City Treasurer�is hereby authorized and directed to hereafter credit all parking meter revenues to the Current Expense Fund. ATTEST: J. A. C -1505, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON.: That it is its intention to make the following improvements within the City of Yakima by constructing a concrete irrigation'pipeline, funcing, to gether with the necessary grading and other incidental work, to serve and benefit the following described property, situate in the City of Yakima, Yakima, County, Washington, to -wit: Beginning at the mid -point of the intersection of Fruitvale Blvd. and North 10th Avenue; thence South to the centerline of Garrett Street, thence East to the alley between North 9th and 10th Avenues, thence South to the P.P. & L. Wasteway (Willow St.), thence East to Campbell Lane, thence South to the alley between Willow and Swan Avenue, thence East to the West line of Lot 17, Block 3, Highland Park Addition, thence _ South-to the centerline of Swan Avenue, thence East to the centerline of North 6th Avenue, thence South to the centerline of Poplar Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Poplar Street to North 3rd Avenue, thence North to a point 150 feet South bf the South line of the P.P.& L. Canal from Fruitvale Blvd. to the point where it joins the Pacific Power & Light Wasteway near 6th Avenue North and Willow Street, and fencing both sides of the P.H. & L. wasteway from 6th Avenue North to a point 180 feet east of the east line of 1st Avenue North; and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the *City Clerk. 255 X256 AUGUST 14, 1957 All persons who may desire to be heard with reference to said proposed improvements are hereby notified to appear at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in :the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 4th day of September, 1957, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters .relating, to said proposed improvements or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvements; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due; notice of said hearings and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvements. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described. The assessments for said improvement shall be made according to special benefit derived from the improvement without regard to the zone and termini method. The City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. B -2064, AN ORDINANCE rezoning certain specific property situate in the Gity of Yakima, County of Yakima, Washington; and declaring an emergency. `Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C -1506 authorizing Statewide City Employees Retirement coverage for Kenneth Knight, Field Engineer, commencing as of the date of his employment, July 9, 1956 and authorizing the Statewide City Employees Retirement System to deduct the matbhing contributions or $88.74 from the surplus con- tributions of the City of Yakima, be passed as read: carried, Alderson,.Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION N6. C -1506, WHEREAS, Kenneth Knight was formerly employed by the State Highway Department and was under the State Employees Retirement System, and on July 9, 1956 he left said employment and became employed by the City of Yakima as Field Engineer in the City Engineerls office, and he now desires to make contributions -of $88.74, said contribution being the amount necessar,y,to cover the first six months of his employment with the City of Yakima under the Statewide 'ity Employees Retirement System; and amount; now, therefore WHEREAS it is necessary for the City of Yakima to match this BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the City of Yakima hereby consents and agrees that said Kenneth Knight, as an employee of said City shall be covered under the Statewide City Employees Retirement System, commencing as of the date of his employment, July 9, 1956, by said iCity pursuant to the existing agreement between said City and the Statewide City Employees Retirement System, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to notify Statewide City Employees Retirement System to deduct the matching contributions or $88.74, from the surplus contributions of said City. Obligation Bond Redemption Fund to pay principal and interest of Airport General Obligation Bonds. WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. B -1482 passed and approved by the City Commission on August 10, 1953, the pity authorized the issuance of airport general obligation bonds in the principal sum of $76,000.00, and created and established the Municipal Airport Bond Fund; and WHEREAS, interest on said bonds is payable semi - annually, and the principal is due and payable annually beginning October 1, 1955; and WHEREAS, there, is an unencumbered balance of $21,063.26, in the General Obligation Bond Redemption Fund, NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1.
