The minutes of the regular meeting of March 18th were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for a used jeep for the Tahoma Cemetery, the following bids were received: Inland Motor Company #1 1129.66 Inland Motor Company #2 81439..66 Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that said bids be referred to the Cemetery Super- intendent for consideration and recommendation: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. This being the time for receiving bids on the modified specifications as prepared by the City Engineer for the construction of the 36th Avenue South and Swani.Tract Irrigation system, being L.I.D. No. 852, the original bids having been received on March 4, 1957 and rejected on March 11, 1957 and the City Clerk having been authorized to readvertise for bids on said modified specifications, the following bids.were re -' ceived: De Blasio Bros, Schedule 1 (a) 45,898.70 -- Schedule 1 (b) 45,434.43 Schedule 2 5,332.52 N. L. B -2008, AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. A -272 relating to the obstruc- tion of streets, alleys, highways, and public places in the City of Yakima; providing a penalty for the violation thereof; and declaring an emergency. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Ordinance No. B -2009 establishing standards for the construction and maintenance of residential streets, curbs and gutters, and sidewalks and for thel maintenance of'same, be passed as read: carried, Alderson and" Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt voting Nay. ORDINANCE NO. B -2009, AN ORDINANCE amending establishing standards for the construction and maintenance of residential streets,-curbs and gutters, and sidewalks, and for the maintenance thereof. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Ordinance No. B -2010 fixing the time of de- linquency and prescribing the form of bonds for L.I -.D. No. 837, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B =1010 fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 837, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that Resolution No. C -1463 authorizing the appropriate city officials of the City of Yakima to accept and execute Amendment No. 1 of Grant Agreement in connection with the Airport Improvement Project, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1463, A RESOLUTION authorizing the appropriate city officials of the City of Yakima to accept and execute Amendment No. 1 of Grant Agreement in connection with the improvement of the municipal airport. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has heretofore executed a Grant Agreement with the Civil Aeronautica Authority providin,q for certain improvements at the Yakima Municipal Airport, and WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Yakima to amend said Grant Agreement, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized on behalf of the City of Yakima to accept and execute Amendment No 1 to' Grant Agreement, Contract No. C4ca- 3947-A, Project No. 9 -45- 023 -0795, a copy of said Grant Agreement being attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and by this reference incorp- orated herein as though fully set forth. Schutt not voting. RESOLUTION NO. C -1464, A RESOLUTION providing for the transfer of funds within -the Planning Commission budget of the Current Expense Fund. WHEREAS, a surplus of funds exists in the Assistant Director item of the Planning Commission appropriation in the 1957 budget, while there is a need of additional funds in the Administrative Secretary item in said appropriation, all within the "Salaries" classification, and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it in the best interests of the City to make such transfer within said Planning Commission appropriation, and WHEREAS, the action contemplated herein is authorized by RCW 35.33.120, NOW, THEREFORE, / „{ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That $300.00 be, and the same hereby, transferred from the Assistant Director item to Administrative Secretary item, all within the "Salaries" classification of the Planning Commission 1957 budget and within the Current Expense Fund,.and the City Treasurer,is hereby authorized,,empowered'and directed to make the aforementioned transfer within said fund. ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 25th day of March, 1957: Joe K.Alderson MAYOR ATTEST: J _...... , - .A.S mith CITY CLERK An Ordinance providing for the expenditure of $3,500.00 not provided for in the 1957 budget for the irrigation department for the purchase of a turbine pump house at 5th Avenue and D Streets, and for the installation of electrical controls and main irrigation lines forr said pump house, said item being a capital outlay item for the irrigation fund was read in its entirety and tabled, same to be read the second time and voted upon at the next regular meeting of the City Commission, April 1, 19576- Moved by Mathews, seconded by Alderson that the following appointments be made to the board of adjustment: Paul Goode - whose term has expired - reappointed for a 6 year term Don Donners - to serve the balance of the unexpired term of Earl Lee, now resigned. carried, Alderson, Mathews voting aye on roll call. Schutt not voting.
